*Spoilers* It is isolated for sure, the only train doesn't leave the town, the voice says Babbdi - Babbdi, it just drives in a circle I guess. You can even reach the boat in the ocean, if you go around the invisible wall (there is a single dove on the top of the dam near the place where you can see the boat, that is where the wall has a gap), but even then, there is just nothing out there. If you try to go around the highest wall and drop to the ground, you get ported to where the game starts. It seems like there is nothing around it and Babbdi is all there is. I still haven't figured out what the trumpet does/if it does anything at all when played in a certain way. Have you tried games by Cosmo D on steam? Also very surreal.

If you feel anxiety after what transpired a few days ago, this game can help give some peace. Dont despair, keep on keeping on.

If anyone says downpour isn't as good as the first few games, they are a moron. Never trust gatekeepers, they are too ignorant to know any better. Downpour was an amazing experience and I took it apart just as I had SH2 and SH1 before it.

Everyone always divide on this one but I loved downpour

Many people recommended Signalis to me after I got deep into the Fear & Hunger series last year and was looking for another similar game to play. Spectacular game…much like F&H I couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks. Just started thinking about it again and found your video, very well done you have the perfect voice for videos like this!!!

I always get some _look_ when I tell people I liked Downpour, what can I say when it's the only one I was able to play? If you want me to experience the "good ones" go ahead and send me a copy! Buuut that won't happen now that the original SH2 or others are climbing past $150usd for physical discs. Don't even get me started on the way people are selling whole PS4s that have P.T. downloaded- Exploring a franchise or fandom shouldn't be gatekept; let others enjoy the media they vibe with <3

Excellent video! The reviews for silent hill downpour have always been very bad, people summarize it as one of the worst games in the franchise, which is not true. Yes, it has down moments, but many of the ideas brought to this game are excellent and make it a good horror game, both at the time it was released and today. The video demonstrates this very well. This game has the potential to be reviewed by the community and become something of a cult following.

Ah I remember seeing a trailer for this amidst other game trailers and instantly solidified itself in my mind. I cannot forget it even years later.

This title reminds me of J Horror more than most other games, SH4 reminds me of particularly the Ju-On series, being scared of the ghost while trying to save and using candles stayed with me long after playing it, great video!!!!!

Playing through sh3 for the first time in a decade and I just realized something bonkers. The best emding of this game involves an abortion of a god. One if the first puzzles requires A FUCKING COAT HANGER to reach and pull down a ladder.

my only issue with this game was it abandoning the parasitic relationship between the protagonist and the monsters. It doesn't have the same emotional turmoil when you realise that it's not a mirror of the trauma and fears of our playable character. Like James' sexual frustration, fear of death and sickness or Heathers fear of sexual violation. Instead Henry is just a blank state. If the game just had that it would be my favourite.

It was unfortunately never ported to PC, so I've never had the chance to play it.

the problem is I took the doll from walter, I was a kid and my english wasn't that good I took the doll without knowing he was a serial killer, I just thought he was some homeless guy and I felt pity to refuse a gift from him

I just played through born from a wish and didnt completely get it. Thanks to the video I get it a lot more. I guess the Baldwin mansion + Ernest are a microcosm of James + silent hill where Maria is a sort of literal and spiritual guide. Ernest, like james in silent hill is trapped in the mansion working on finding the source of their grief. I'll say that its interesting but still kinda strange to have maria be driven by a desire to meet fate -> meet james as opposed to giving up on everything when we get her creepy-confident mismatched behavior in the base game and how mych she is just driven by manifestatins of silent hill as seen by things like her rapid mood swings probably part if the self torture on james. I feel like it is a long road to fully understanding this game.

Downpour has always had a soft spot in my heart since it was my first Silent Hill game I experienced…through watching it on KZbin. I was a fan from watching the first movie and wanted more. I like the game even more with the idea that Murphy isn’t in his Silent Hill but actually in Ann’s, which is a topic that was kinda touched on in Silent Hill 2 with Eddie and Angela. Is Downpour a perfect game: no. But, it’s a pretty good entry. Sad that it will never be ported so more people can experience it.

Ernest saying “this is a dead end, there is nothing beyond here” gives me chills. Like Silent Hill itself is talking to the player

I'm happy to live in Europe so I could enjoy Forbidden Siren 2 the best of the series in my opinion, as well as Project Zero 2 Wii Édition which was a pretty good remake
