So in regards to Yorito’s ending and how it relates to Kyouya’s I think they are given similar roles in exceptionally different circumstances, they’re exterminators Kyouya is summoned to any point in time to any location to exterminate creatures like Shibito and now Yamibito, it’s like exterminating these creatures is his full time job, and he takes to it very naturally (I mean if I was Kyouya I’d enjoy killing Cosmic Horrors for all eternity too) Kyouya specifically is cleaning up the mess, he’s wiping the slate clean, like he’s protecting normalcy for the world by destroying all the evidence of what transpired Yorito however is dropped into the Stolen World with no context or warning, with a loaded gun, on a crowded beach, and he goes absolutely ballistic on the Yamibito, going so far that they *run from him in terror* If Kyouya’s extermination is protecting the world’s normalcy, Yorito’s extermination is the wrathful vengeance of Humanity in a world stolen by the Yamibito, in other words, *Yorito is the monster now*

The little Toro Inoue Shibito in the background. Knowing you have a real model of it just feels like you're really taking a note out of the dev team's penchant for making real props for their archives. It feels like an easter egg on a couple of different levels.

I've seen several other youtubers talk about this legendary franchise, but this has been one of the most thorough and interesting entries I've seen. I also love the tiny details of craftsmanship that appear on your videos. The time signatures on guest voice-overs, the jumpscare warnings, the soundtrack list with time stamps... These are all the things I always look for and very rarely find. What a treat this video has been. You've got yourself a new subscriber, and can't wait to see new content! Keiichiro Toyama is a master of his craft and his talent of directing video games in his career from his directional debut of the classic Silent Hill, the underrated Siren and Gravity Rush series and now his upcoming game Slitterhead which is returning to his survival horror roots. This guy has such a great a phenomenal track record and cemented as one of the best auteurs in the game industry!

Really love how in depth you go in these, a lot of people usually just play a game as it is and doesn't have the curiosity to gather outside info, about where it takes place and etc, both because it might be hard to do so, or don't have time, or, sometimes, dont give a shit, but i think its important, especially for games like these where you can feel the passion that went into it. Also, i'll say this, Siren 2 and SH4 were the games that taught me that even tho' I'm rarely affected by horror, when like, body parts are disproportionately big, it does make me uncomfortable and I wonder if there's a name for it. Recently there was a Doctor Who episode that had something like that too, idk what it is, but like, I feel the same way I feel when looking at a cockroach, disgusted and i don't want it to touch me at all.

Now I understand something. This is why sometimes Missions 1 and 2 can't happen at the same timeline. The earliest example was Akiko's mission where in Mission 1, she escapes with Soji but in Mission 2, Soji escapes individually while Akiko escapes at a different location. They can't happen simultaneously but it seems Mission 2 is the "canon" timeline since Soji and Akiko were definitely separated. So are we supposed to see Missions 1 and 2 as diverging timelines? The odd thing is that it is often possible for the character to have done both missions. Hmm

An amazing amount of work! Great music choices for some of the moodiness that fits the game like the Fable 2 and .hack title screens or the Twilight Realm theme! Made the dive into the details over the characters all the more enthralling to go through.

I was waiting for this for a VERY long time!!!! I also had to wait the entire day yesterday upon release because I was traveling but I guess it's finally time and I'm SUPER excited!!!!! Your work on documenting the first game helped me HUGELY in what I'm doing with my Novel (it's also part of what I DMed you about) so I was waiting eagerly for this second part! Siren to me is not just a horror game or it might not even be a horror game! It's more of a sad story touching on subjects such as humans trying to be more than humans, ending up into shells of themselves (the Shibito). I also remember one time that I encountered one of them in a play through and before attacking me, they had spent quite a long time swearing and cursing me with their shovel on hand, which back then made me realise one thing... MAYBE in their eyes we (the player) are the monster or the villain. Maybe it's a metaphor for thin headed humans who don't accept what they don't understand! Anyways I think it's time I finally get to see the second part! Keep up the great work!!!!

The way I RAN when I saw this video finally pop up on my feed, thank you so much! I knew about Siren years ago through youtube videos and gameplay but your videos on this series makes me fall even more in love with the world Team Siren has created, I can never get enough of it! The interesting story, the use of mirrors/parallel words, symbolism, its references, the gorgeous environments and what they were based of, all the love and the dedication the team put behind the scenes and even further than just the PS2 games, is amazing and sweet to see all together in this video. (I wish we would still get this level of promotion and extra content for games like this ngl! I truly miss the old internet with the interactive pages and flash games haha) I absolutely adore how deep you go when researching for these videos and the way you talk about it, I get so fascinated, excited and happy. I get giddy and end up gushing about it further to my partner and close friends haha. This came out long, sorry but again thank you so much for this video (and really all the videos you make! Your siren videos are absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for covering the story and every detail in depth. Ive been obsessed with siren since i was little kid. I was majorly heartbroken when i actually found out in 2006 that a siren 2 existed but never came to the states. Thankfully my dad helped me mod my silver ps2 slim to be able to play a Japanese import of siren 2 using magic swap. Then i couldn't hardly play it after all the hard work because everything was in Japanese 😂. Years later i finally beat it using walkthroughs and now i emulate the PAL version if i ever get that itch. Again thank you for the previous siren video and this one as well. The amount of potential Siren has not only in it's gameplay, but in it's expansive narrative and world. It's insane how there isn't a modern adaptation of Siren whether it be movie, tv show, or mainline game entry. There's so much the story can say with today's world, so much potential to say things the world needs to hear. I hope someone watches this amazing video and greenlights SOMETHING Siren. There's nothing still like it to this day.

The Siren developers were all fired and Sony Japan Studio was shuttered by Jim Ryan back in 2021. So the series is basically dead and never coming back. A large amount of former Siren devs founded a new independent company called Bokeh Game Studio and are working on a new horror IP, but Sony themselves are too busy chasing western triple-A moviegames like God of War and Spider Man to bother with niche stuff like Siren.

This siren 2 coverage is amazing. Really great work. Warms my heart to see this game get such love. While i realize this game has had playthroughs on youtube for a while, this might be the most in depth coverage its ever gotten. The vibes of this game are just amazing. This cosmic spooky puzzle you're trying to piece together. So good, a shame it didn't come to the states, worth so much attention. It's like this amazing slice of horror but a whole region doesn't get the release lol. Anyway thanks for such a great analysis. I'm left wondering storywise which world at the end is the real world between Mamoru and Soji. I think the kid from the first game with the sword can save our boy Yorito, but what do we make of Soji vs Mamorus state? And which world does the paradox collectible describe? I suppose Soji's world if it's a world truly without Mother. But then what does Mamoru do in his to get back home and is Ikuko gonna be chill lol?
