Hi, after the 180 days the trial expires. It will prompt to be licensed and it will shutdown on a regular basis.

From your Windows Server 2019 & Windows Server 2022 instructional videos, I learned a lot about setting up for Windows Server. Just recently I took advantage to upgrade to Windows Server 2025. Per this video, I was able to make for Installation and configuration on Windows Server 2025. From your previous videos, I was able to correlate to join my client computers to Windows Server 2025 through DHCP and Domain Controller. Also I have setup for Print Server. Now comes the question: what about setting up for File Server? The best that I can tell, Windows Server 2025 has done away with File Server and now instead has Windows Server 2025 File and Folder Sharing. For now I only see one video on KZbin for Windows Server 2025 File and Folder Sharing. Nothing on File Server setup for Windows Server 2025.

Can you do a full MCSA series of videos for Windows Server 2025 ???
@jeffrobertson897728 күн бұрын
Awesome video! I don't believe a TPM module is strictly required for Server 2025 like it is with Windows 11. If you have one it does have to be v2.0 however and if you don't there are some features that won't work.

great explanation Jon. So if i had an application that i needed all users on the domain to access, is this what i would need to do? like just add that application to the folder and share it to all the users?
@moozballyАй бұрын
Hi Jon, great video, im here in 2024! I notice you used the admin account to join the host to the domain. How can i use individual accounts as i dont want all users using the adm8n account?
@ittasterАй бұрын
Hi, 'delegating' the task 'join a computer to the domain' is a better option to consider for a production environment. Also do keep in mind by default, a user can join up to 10 computers to a domain (which can also be changed).
@moozballyАй бұрын
@ittaster does this mean if I have 10 users, I am giving them all the admin password? How can each user have their own user ID, which they can use to "join a computer"
@ittasterАй бұрын
no, a regular user account is able to join a computer to a domain by default. You can also 'delegate' a task to a regular user account like 'join a computer to a domain' only (but nothing else).

How would or does one keep the files seperate from domain controller as mentioned about 2 mins in
@ittasterАй бұрын
Hi, partitioning the drive of a server allows a logical drive to be created for the OS, and a logical drive for data. It's good practice to have a separate dedicated server configured as a 'file server' (member server) and a dedicated domain controller too.

Hi, I got my ip details by running "ipconfig -all", then I used the information to set a static ip. I verified the ip was not occupied by pinging it and it returned "time out". Is this the right approach?

After installing window server 2022 , I have faced internet , audio & laptop touch pad problem . Please help me How can i solve this problem 😢
@ittaster2 ай бұрын
Hi, the audio and touchpad issues sound as though they are driver issues. A suggestion, to consider trying Windows 10 drivers if available to download from the manufacturer. Internet issues are most likely down to IP addressing and DNS. Check the IP address assigned to the server, the default gateway (router) and DNS. (DNS forwarders) is set to an Internet DNS server (Google for example). Hope this helps Jon

I cant ping the .local address but I can ping the number address. I cannot join the domain controller. I am using Win10 as client and Server 2008 as the AD DC. Whats up with that?
@ittaster3 ай бұрын
Hi, check the DNS server IP address config on the client, it would need to point to the DC.

Hi, have a quick question here, how you know which IP and gateway you have to assign to make it static, thanks for answering
@ittaster3 ай бұрын
Hi, for a home/test lab the gateway IP would typically be an Internet router and for a test server, my suggestion would be to pick an IP that can be excluded from the DHCP scope (or an address that is not used by devices). In a enterprise network environment, the IP address scheme would be chosen based on the size of the network and divided into networks. I have a small series of videos that cover IPv4 addresses that go more in depth. Hope this helps Jon
@iliyasmerekeuly39653 ай бұрын
Good Day, the video was amazingly understandable, but i didnt get one thing, why did you set exactly these ips, im newbie, so sorry if my question is lil stupid
@ittaster3 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for you comments and great feedback! To answer your question. The 192.168.1.0/24 network is fairly typical of a small home network/lab, to make it easy to follow studying at home. This network range allows up to 254 host devices. However it wouldn't be suitable for larger networks. I have a small series of videos that cover IPv4 addressing that go more in depth.
