The interview was going well until she said there was no risk with oral contraceptives. This makes no sense what so ever. Oral contraceptives stop the body from ovulating. When the body doesn't ovulate it doesn't create the normal cycle thus not making progesterone. The cycle is artificially maintained with oral contraceptives. We are now seeing a lot of women in peri and menopause having a lot of hormonal issues and health issues and the amount of ablations and hysterectomies is increasing to shocking levels. The uterus is not an unnecessary organ and there is a brain scientist who is now seeing an increased incident of alzheimers in women with hysterectomies. This comment about oral contraceptives is so strange right on the heals of talking about side effects of medication. There is no way you can give a woman synthetic hormones for a reproductive lifetime and not even consider there may be side effects.

Great interview. Very helpful and makes so much sense as to systemic sexism and inequity in a patriarchal, capitalistic society! I'm curious to know if Dr. Kooij was able to get funding for this incredibly important research since the interview...

At 65 had job I loved (managing a high rise condo of wonderful people) when Covid landed & basically locked me in a small office by myself. 6mo later I called HR & said I thought I was loosing my mind. They sent links, I made appointments & while sitting in the waiting room realized the clinic specialized in ADHD Obviously too many, just not to me until then. 🤣 It explains So Much of my life. Which is much better now - thank you for this vid!

I have always believed I’m always a step ahead of neurotypical people, it’s weird because they seem to easily do what I can’t, but something like not being to figure out how to turn on a lawn mower is so common sense to me and so, confusing to them. I’m very practical in my thinking and I’m sure that’s why I make careless mistakes but I feel ADHD does have it’s good things too 😅

I was with you 100% until the recommendation for oral contraceptive. Has no side effects? I do beg to differ. So many stories... Why mess with your hormones in such an aggressive way?? There are so many foods you can eat to help, and you can manage your life around it. This is where it become a feminist issue! Why should women be expected to function the same the whole month through? Since understanding this, I am giving myself a lot of slack on "off" days, with the knowledge that on other days of my cycle I will be able to do 10 times the amount of work! Other than that I wanted to bring people's attention to growth spurts in girls with ADHD - my daughter is 10 and just had one and it affected her so badly at school. Luckily I was on it ans spoke to het teacher and now it has gone away and she can focus again. We need so much more research!

I had the same reaction. Oral contraceptives stop the body from ovulating. So the body is in a forced unnatural state for years or decades. We are now seeing women in peri and menopause having huge hormonal and health issues. They are having ablations and hysterectomies at an alarming rate.

OMG so true, yep those near me has to stay clear Dangerous Week! Literally I lost control and ran away for a week one time or it will cause havoc at work and those around me in my personal life, already lost one job, and not going to take the risk 😂 And no ADHD meds not helping me, and yes I have tried for 2 years different meds and dosages. And the progesterone only pill makes it all worse on ADHD meds designed for men😩 Drugs now are based on men as much cheaper and easier to study on then us Hormonal women with our fluctuations in menstruation cycles exacerbating our ADHD symptoms yet alone the meds not working in the Dangerous week. For older women the issues of premenopausal and menopausal etc etc etc, we definitely need more research into this area. May There be More Funding Into this Area of much needed research for us ADHD women and Medications designed for women 🙏❤️🙏 Surprised not much funding and support into this area considering 1 out of 5 adults have ADHD globally and many women particularly are living “hectic” lives and “guilt/shame/low self worth/low confidence etc“ when a lot of it is genuinely Medical.

Loved this!! Now I want to listen to ADHD 2.0 again, I put it out of my mind, I think, so I could try to focus more on figuring out how to be a better employee in my work from home customer service job. Good employer but being on the phone 8 hours a day with more and more being required of me absolutely depletes me. It doesn't matter that I had 20 years experience as a licensed insurance agent we all get paid the exact same. Plus...if there's one word in the English language that makes me feel both defective AND rebellious, it's METRICS! And now that my division has grown at breakneck speed in one year, that word is being unleashed with a vengeance, wrapped in pretty "our employees are our first priority" gift wrap. This video reminded me it's okay to be a square peg, And if figuring out how I can fit into a round hole was challenging in a good way, I'm sure I would NOT end my day exhausted, feeling totally depleted. Nor mutter to myself, sometimes loudly, when I see a "reminder" pop up on my computer screen that "15 customers are waiting in queue!!". There are plenty of round pegs working at this company that find this challenging and energizing. I'm simply wired differently. And that's not a defect. Thank God 😊

I have many shining accomplishments and many painful rejections and failures. Hormonal swings. Mine is the kind that checks every box for innatentive and many for hyperactive. Psychiatrist pulled my DNA. Smoking gun... MTHFR 677T homozygous (Inherited variant from both parents, also means I passed one to all 4 sons) Diet is crucial. Research on this is crucial. It helps tons because health issues are huge, especially hormonal. Nothing cures it, tho. Sari's book is so soothing to my nerves. Calming down and accepting it 💯 is truly empowering. Hello! Thank you for the great content. I suspect that i too have ADHD as my academic life took a sudden down turn when my coping mechanism wasnt developed enough to deal with my academic requirements, and this spilled into my entreprenuerial journey as well. Do you have any actionable steps for an adult with ADHD to take in Singapore? Such as: - What psychologist can i should consider seeking help with? - What actionable coping mechanism can one take when dealing with a "boring" task - Should one consider taking drugs as well to cope with ADHD in the long run? or should i strive towards using non-drug solutions such as relying on only psychotherapy techniques?

I am new to Sari Solden's work but was also diagnosed as inattentive ADD finally as an adult after a life of struggle and it was mind blowing to finally start to address my issues from a medical and psychological perspective vs just feeling "broken" or different. Self Acceptance is HUGE and hearing how important it is to develop self acceptance while working on understanding your own unique expression and experience of ADD/HD is very empowering. ❤
