HELLLLLLLLLLLLP! !!!!!!!!! Hi Guys. I need help. I have just installed the MOES 006 Thermostat. Julian's video is a great help and I had NO difficultly, but! He didn’t do a follow-up video on connecting it to the Wi-Fi. I am having mega problems and just cannot get my head around it. Can anyone help. The instructions do not make any sense and as far as I can see there is multiple ways of connecting to the WIFI, one of which tells me to switch on my Bluetooth on my iPhone 11pro “BLUETOOTH???” I want to control my gas central heating boiler from miles away so having Bluetooth on makes no sense whatsoever. I am very confused. Help would be much appreciated. To understand it I need step by step guidance. Thanks.

Very logical...BUT...you should be gas safe registered to work on systems like this...looks like you got away with it this time....but other people watching this video who get ideas may not be well educated...and may do dangerous work.

Thanks Julian had the same problem as you bought a second hand one of e Bay. Followed your instructions and now have a fully function potterton now Thanks again Steve

Hey Julian, I don’t have your issues but I am interested in health. I read a fabulous book recently by Dr Tim Spectre called food for life. He recommends eating all your food in a 10 hour window, that you include 30 different veggies in your food every week, including nuts, seeds, herbs and spices. Also, San Pellegrinò water is the best kind of mineral water you can consume and it’s naturally sparkling 😃🙏🌈

Have you checked the freewheeling of the alternator? This is usually also defective and destroys the tensioner

Julian, I'm still confused ! I've only got two wires and an earth going to my Honeywell type mechanical thermostat, one red, one black and an earth. I would like to fit a digital thermostat but, afraid I might get it wrong. Our bungalow was built in 1972.

I managed to find the complete tensioner assembly for my 2014 diesel Forester for £72 from Arnold Clark Autoparts their website listed the correct assembly and belt that cross referenced the Subaru part numbers my Dealer gave me.

That was a brilliant demonstation of the problem. I am having the same problem with my boiler. And would be so please if someone could help me sort it. I thought it's the pump so I have purchased the pump. And wish to fit a magnaclean too and change the two valves.

Hi Julian, many thanks for the video. just wondering how the PCB is behaving after a year? Our boiler is 20 years old, ok til recently, would you know why these faults start to occur over time, believe faulty soldering is an issue but why only shows up after say 20 years.?
@dukedepommefrites8779 Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear. Spoke to a gas engineer across road, he says not worth upgrading to new condensers. Apparently not serviceable, the old pottertons etc can nearly always be repaired.

Good fix at a good price. I have a suprima 70 that failed. I re soldered all joints on the circuit board which cured my fault. I read that they reduced lead content in their solder which caused dry joints.

Excellent video, helped me to wire up my stat. However, so far the only command I have managed to use with Alexa is to set the temp when it manual mode. ie Alexa set thermostat 19 degrees. Alexa does not recognise the request to switch from programmed mode to manual mode or any other commands. Has anyone figured out the correct requests that work with Alexa?

This is helpful, but I'm still trying to find out if this type of thermostat can have a remote sensor? Our thermostat is in a up stairs bedroom that is often not heated, I'd like the sensor to be in our lounge. Would you know if there are remote sensors, or even if a smart-phone/tablet could act as the thermostat sensor?

Shouldn’t be taking the cover off the boiler you have to be gas safe registered, read the regs, if the cover is not correctly fitted back on it will be in safe, another thing is you can’t test a pump by putting mains to it, how can you tell if the propeller is working? Is is why we spend thousands of pounds of course to be qualified! Leave to the experts and come of giving people advice, you will cause a major problem
@Михаиллеви2 жыл бұрын
TBF he did not touch the combustion chamber. Wiring in mains to the pump was a temporary test to see if it worked. It was obvious it worked as hiw would the system have stayed on at all if it didn't as the overheat thermostat would have stopped the boiler working fairly promptly if it didn't. You have to wonder what advice the well qualified boiler servicer gave though !

Brilliant explanation of how the Suprima boiler works. Even if your not a DIY guy at least you know what the heating engineer charging you for. It's best to have an understanding of your system when making decisions that will cost you money. Well done and thanks for the video.

Have my Suprima 50 now for 20 years, in that time ive replaced the PCB 7 years ago and the cast iron heat exhanger that rusted from the inside out about 4 years ago from not cleaning the system. I drain the system now every year or two pre-season and add new inhibitor. I expect another 10 years plus out of the old girl yet, great boiler!
