What kind of people stay there? I ask because Palm springs is known for ?? You know? Do I need to be on guard? 😊

That area has seen a lot of bad actors in the last couple of years. I was traveling between St Pete and Bradenton a lot and there were a few RVs that appeared to be living there. Abuse it what has caused it to really become a problem. If people would stop for a night and the move on taking their trash with them I believe nobody would care. We have fulltimed since 1996 and we have free camped all over this country. We stay one night and move on. We have stayed longer on a couple of occasions, but rarely. It is getting more difficult all the time. We stopped for the night at a Walmart a couple of years ago and there were 10+ people living in their cars and leaving their trash everywhere. It's sad to see.

Another great video. Curious how you always seem to have a gate code, do you make reservations to access?

Thanks for the video, Lou! That's one of the sites I didn't get to during my drive through Apalachicola Nat'l Forest. That's my kind of camping! I bought a telescope recently and I bet the nighttime sky is amazing!

Your video reinforces what I heard as well. I have family South of Ocala and they warned me of the "violators" that over-stay in the park. It's a absolute shame and should be monitored. Another great video, Lou!

Drove through Apalachicola National Forest very early Sunday morning (1/5/24) and there were LOTS of hunters. Like others mentioned, the trailer you saw is for hunting dogs. I'm not sure but I believe they have block-out dates to avoid conflicts between campers and hunters. I checked out a few campsites (by car) but didn't hang around long not to disturb the hunters. Beautiful place!

Drove through Apalachicola Nat'l Forest just a few days ago and saw Porter Lake Campground. There were appx 4 tents set up, didn't drive through. LOTS of hunters in the Western portion of the forest. I'm on a pre-retirement roadtrip (by car) and checking out locations like this. LOVE your content! Thank you!

This is a day use area where people party all day at the beach. It’s really a noisy spot next to the highway.

Thank you so much for the information that you’re sharing. I’m going to be retiring in a couple of years and want to travel and I love camping but it will be hard if you don’t have a reasonable income. But not impossible if you plan it just right. So this is very inspiring information again thank you so much

Kulshan on baker lake is now all closed during the winter, was one of our favorite places to winter camp but they had too much crime happening so only open during the summer with camp host there.

Soo.. after you 30 dollars the camping is free? That's like saying after you pay 30 dollars for gas the gas is free. Huh?

he said, "camping is free" have someone help you with reading and comprehension. Park ENTRANCE costs money in a lot of states. 30 bucks a year isn't bad. upkeep after people such as yourself cost money. Trash removal/pick up, having a nice area to enjoy all costs money.

Automated phone trees are so frustrating. Punching in a zero or saying the word agent usually works for getting a human on the phone, I can see why y'all are upset though, seems annoying.
