Do you ride a lot of mud and water? Just wondering if it clogs the retracting mechanism at all?
@ManuelGavilanes-br2ww5 күн бұрын
You could tell that it was obviously not coming from the sound bar. Lmfao 😂
@johnsoff-road4 күн бұрын
Every second of music audio in this video is coming directly from the soundbar. That's the difference using good mics makes. I had my two DJI wireless mics positioned about 4 feet in front of the bar to try and capture the audio as accurately as possible. If you're used to watching videos where the creator used the mic in the camera to capture the sound, then I can see why you'd think this isn't coming from the bar. I can assure you it is.

Can you set the spot where you park and start your ride. Then mark the spot you end. And show the way back to where you started? Keep it permanently stored in the phone for further directions for another time? Sorry for not wording this correctly. Hope you understand. Thank you. Jeff D.
@johnsoff-road5 күн бұрын
It depends what mapping app you’re using. In Ride Command you can save waypoints, attach pics to points, and have it track your entire ride and save the track to use again. BRMB has similar tracking and waypoint features. You can always try different apps on your phone and see what works best for your use and then use that.

@johnsoff-road Thank you. I bought my atv new in Jan 2022. Until this past Saturday, I only had 47 miles on it. Limited places and days to ride. Saturday, a friend and I decided to buy a permit for a northern Pa DCNR trails. I'm totally hooked now. We rode 6.5 hours and 95 miles total. What a beautiful ride. Some was a little bumpy but was like going on an adventure. My 47 miles was steep hills, sharp corners and so on. More for an experienced rider... loved it.. long rides are my thing.

Which trails are these? Also, is that polaris guy the one who used to have the old red Sportsman? If it is, that guy is a weapon and not in a good way. He's gonna hurt himself the way he rides. There's a difference between riding aggressively and just being plain stupid. Dont mean to offend or anything. Ive watched most of your ride videos and the way he rides makes me nervous. Good video as always
@johnsoff-road5 күн бұрын
These trails are accessed from the parking area on Black River Rd. Off of the 118. I mention the trail numbers a couple times in the video but I can't remember exactly what route we took as we ended up doubling back a couple times. And don't worry about Ronnie. LOL. He's been riding ATV's and sleds his whole life. He knows what he's doing. We all ride differently and have different levels of confidence on our machines.
@BnMProductions115 күн бұрын
@@johnsoff-road Because you've gotten lucky isn't exactly a reason to say what you're doing is right. He went into that berm way too fast. Easy to grab tire wrong and flip. I've seen him nearly kill himself atleast twice just in your videos. But I guess he can do him. There isn't a trail in Ontario I won't hit and I don't do go arounds. But there's a way to do the obstacles to minimize risk and he doesn't do that. Hopefully he doesn't kill himself on that thing for his sake and yours.
@BnMProductions115 күн бұрын
@@karenpeterson-mw2vg He's nearly killed himself atleast 2 times just in these videos. One was only saved because he luckily fell into a tree. You are blinded by your closeness to the issue. Me not knowing these people allows me to judge the situation more objectively. Just because you've managed to survive up to this point is not an indication what you are doing is right. I'm an experienced rider, I ride all the same trails these guys do. I've been off roading in one form or another for 15+ years and I know what reckless driving looks like. Just takes one small change to go from an "aggressive" drift up a berm to a roll over and a broken collar bone or worse. This sport is already dangerous and exhilarating enough and riding like he does is just unnecessary and dangerous. Also, I didnt slam anyone, I pointed out how dangerous his driving style is. I've seen more than one guy who said the same thing that they knew what they were doing, until they didn't. You notice how no one else in the group rides like him or ever looks like theyre one small mistake from being out of control? Then there's him, uncontrollably wheelying up rock inclines and recklessly attacking dangerous obstacles without control. That speaks enough volumes. If the way he rides is totally safe so long as you know what you're doing, every other experienced rider would do the same. But most experienced riders know how unsafe what he does is which is why they avoid it. This is going to be my only "slam". How he rides does not display skill or aggression, it displays a lack of intelligence and ignorance to consequence.

I got those seals too, not sure if it was from Afraid Knot. That air box seal is going to cause things to break. The way your ratchet was stuck when you showed it on camera, I wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t damage that hex on the cover. Eventually the hex will twist off or the locking tabs on the cover or air box will shear off.
@johnsoff-roadАй бұрын
No damage. I’ve had it on and off a few times since installing and it’s much easier now that the seal is broken in. It’s definitely tight when first installed. Next time I would do as Afraid Knot suggested and put a little dielectric grease around the seal to help it go on easier.

Does Polaris Ride Command and onX map need to be downloaded on this new phone as well as the personal cell phone?

Yes, this is completely separate from your regular phone. It doesn’t have anything to do with your phone other than connecting to its hotspot if you wanted this device to have data access while out. Otherwise this is a stand-alone unit.

Yes it’s a regular smartphone and has a USB-C charging port. Just plug into your lighter socket or hardwire in a USB-C connector. As for breadcrumbs, depends what mapping app you use. You can use anything you want. I use Ride Command and BRMB and they both track your route.

I had the same idea (getting a CarPlay motorcycle unit for my SXS) but I stop the project because the quad map app I’m using (iQuad in Quebec) is not supported by CarPlay. My guess is that apps require special Apple license to be able to run in CarPlay mode. I might try to get in touch with iQuad developers to ask them to add the CarPlay mode, but I’m not holding my breath on this! 😂🤣
@johnsoff-roadАй бұрын
Yes that definitely seems to be a limitation with using a CarPlay device off-road. If more off-road apps were compatible and the unit had a built in GPS (which I know some of their models do have) then this would be a really nice, sleek unit to have. Thanks for watching!

Most cell phones require Cell tower connectivity unless they are a satellite phone. The phone you are talking about isn't working off of a Satellite. Are you working off of downloaded maps when out of cell range on the Bison phone?
@johnsoff-roadАй бұрын
Yes. I explain it all in the video. Phones don’t require cell service for GPS to work. Saving the maps for offline use eliminates any need for cell service.
