No thank you. Bad enough selling on Ebay. Not giving more money to dying shopping method corporations.

USPS is my best friend. Half my apartment is USPS shipping boxes, lol. Happy Selling. This Q4 has been awful for me...... :( I think the customers that purchase from my niche are broke flat. Never had this problem before but it sure is annoying. I don't look to make 20k a month but I am used to 3-11K. Have hit a 2 once since July and that's with so many new products. Traffic is down like 400 percent..... I hear new shops are doing awesome but existing shops that used to make money are just SOL on Etsy. Has me grinding my brain gears though.

Donate or sell to school art classes or teachers. Projects for Seniors or underprivileged children. Donating…tax deductions….maybe?
@Elisa_DoesLife4 күн бұрын
I’ve donated truckloads to Salvation Army and Goodwill. I will probably donate more. You can’t write off taxes for the donations if you claimed them during the purchase according to my CPA.

I know for me this is true. I have only done this one time. I sent a message to the person. She responded to me so fast.. I was not sure before she did that that I wanted to buy the product. With her doing that I knew I wanted to buy the item. For one I did need the item second this let me know that I could trust her..
@Elisa_DoesLife4 күн бұрын
Was it me?😊, just kidding. But that’s amazing and I’m glad that other people are being responsive as well. It’s so important to provide great customer service.
@tinarogers21814 күн бұрын
@Elisa_DoesLife its true customer service is really important. If me and my husband goes somewhere and they don't at least have good customer service we tend to not want to go back. We try to give a place a few tries before we just say no more.

I’m not a fan of Etsy due to the many policy changes that are unfavorable to sellers, and they frequently close shop owners' stores for unknown reasons. I wish Etsy CEO would step down, or the board would force him to leave. However, renting a month-to-month mall space is far too expensive when factoring in insurance, worker’s compensation, electricity, inventory, and giving up a percentage of sales on top of monthly rent, and let’s include all the red tape have to go through to open a store. To me, considering all of this, it’s not worth the headache or the expenses that come with running a temporary store. Another issue is that malls no longer attract the same level of foot traffic they did 10 years ago. Most mall tenants, from name brands to startups, are struggling to meet their profit margins. Why? The simple fact is that online retailers have changed the way consumers shop.This generation and the next do most of their shopping online and only visit malls to hang out. If you were to take all the expenses of running a temporary store and invest them in your online store instead, your profit margins would likely be much better. Alternatively, if you want the experience of direct customer contact without the high expenses of renting a store, a flea market or art show would be a better option while still maintaining your online store. 😎
