There is a similar product now ("Far Out Toys NASCAR Crash Circuit") but it doesn't have anything as cool as the pit lane feature. You'd think things have gotten better after all the years!

Thanks for the video, very thorough and answered all my questions about 1:43 on 1/24. I am just starting out and one big thing I was surprised at was the difficulty in running counter clockwise like we race for the most part in the US, they kept saying in videos the cars have just a "simple" switch to go counter clockwise.....But the lane switching sensors in digital do not line up and render the switching/lane counting useless. Unless I am missing something, I have to turn my control unit opposite on inside of track side, and have all the control buttons on inside of track facing away from me. And flip all lane changers end for end, so sensor is on correct side.
@All-ScaleSlotCarDen17 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much for watching, and I'm happy to know the video is helpful! You are right, unfortunately turning everything around would be the only way to run counterclockwise digitally. Those switches on the Carrera cars only switch directions while in analog mode on an analog track. Carrera is in Austria and caters mainly to Europe, but you'd think there would be a large enough fan base in the US to warrant an American style digital racing set. Hopefully in the near future, as the hobby grows?
@JDL_202013 сағат бұрын
@@All-ScaleSlotCarDen Thanks for the reply. I agree 100% that a US style set would be good for the Carrera line. I would pay more up front for the following rather than research purchase and install after market upgrades that Carrera could be making more $. But what is the fun in not tinkering with your sets? BUT you void warranties, so since my track is bran new do I risk voiding warranties? Keep in mind the below is from a rookie new to the Carrera 1/32/24 digital products. Anyone please feel free to educate me if I am wrong or ingnorant of the products. They also need to have the control unit able to switch from Digital to analog, they would sell so many other cars. They also need the anti collision chip in all the double lane changers in the least, double sensor/eyes for changing from clockwise to Counter on lane changers. Thats one of the biggest problems for me starting out and have to research up on the chip and shell out more $$$ just to get it to race decently without many collisions in close racing. They also need to be mindful of people wanting to/ racing other scale cars on the track for future upgrades. Right now I have to figure out how to get my Carrera track over the top of my HO track so I can switch back and forth easily. Obviously Carrera cannot cater to everyone and their personal needs, but one can dream. Oh, and the tires that come stock on the cars leave a lot to be desired. And anyone new seeing this, read the directions to the digital Carrera systems carefully. I had a heck of a time with certain cars not running well at all, and ended up starting over step by step word for word as listed and so far so good. I must have missed the pairing the wireless dongle to the control/controllers. At lest that is where I think I screwed up. Could have just been the control unit, time will tell. I wish they would bring back the old car liveries like the Ken Miles #1 and more low to the track car styles. I have an F1 Verstappen on the way so not sure about the open wheel racing. If it's like HO they knock wheels alot, its real racing but dang it gets old deslotting. The NASCAR cars are top heavy but the tires at least were pretty flat compared to the4 Ferrai 488 GT3 cars I have. EDIT: I forgot about the magnets being possibly installed backwards and all my NASCAR cars had the metal spacer facing down to the track and they run much better with more magnet. Still getting used to the thumb controller, it's weirder than I though it would be. And the tires are not as flat/uniformed as they looked. Stop reading my carrying on........... and race.

No wrong way to slot car! This is nice. I wish that they did 1/43 in digital. We could do so much on our tables that way. Those AFX barriers are really nice. Wish we would use the HO stuff on our carrera track. Great video!
@All-ScaleSlotCarDen17 сағат бұрын
@ToJuRacing Thank you, Todd! Carrera actually produced Digital 143 in the past, but dropped it a few years ago. I guess it wasn't selling too well, but it was very limited- you can only race with 3 digital cars! Would have been great if they made it like their digital 1:32. If you can find D143 cars, they'll actually work on your D124 track (I made a video about that). You are so right, there is no wrong way to slot car! The more options we have, the better in getting the word out there so more people will find out and enjoy all it has to offer!

Some of the pits kits I built last year had traction magnets that were painted wrong. This caused the cars to run backwards if you assembled them according to the kit instructions. You had to disassemble the car to pop the magnets out and turn them around, which was a headache to have to do. I sent Auto World an e-mail about the issue, and they told me they would look into it. Not sure how many kits went out to stores with this problem, but maybe AW has made an effort to catch the problem. You don't want to have an unhappy customer, because then they won't buy your product again. My local Hobby Hobby has them on the shelves as of 1-18-2025, so maybe the problem has been fixed.

Great track and car collection. I felt like I was the only one out there using Carrera GO. The ghost car and pit lane are great! It's too bad they didn't have it in the digital 143 which I bought. This is the hands down better set. But lane changes are kind of cool. I think the best part of the carrera GO is the price of the cars and theres unique pieces like ice and dirt track and a piece called mechanical lane change that let's you make a short cut.

Hello, and thank you for watching! It's actually the Carrera 26732 chip, but I wouldn't recommend that for most of the Go cars, unless they have wide track widths and wheelbases. The more appropriate option would probably be the Slottechnik SCD2022 chip. The regular D143 cars seem to have a miniature version of the 26732, but I'm not sure what those are named, and probably aren't available anywhere anymore.

Unfortunately, as this product is long discontinued, the only way is to buy them second-hand, on sites such as eBay and Facebook Marketplace, etc. There is a new product now, very similar, and can be easily found in different stores: store.nascar.com/toys/nascar-crash-circuit-short-track-speedway/d-37990224+f-2600200066899+z-9-3711899583?_s=ak1944nas-pla&sku=14605273&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyc67BhDSARIsAM95QztFPoXSuCntRRhAYRXtTOSRbZ00cIAo1vVtsh_5Gxq3Lv8YdGYUD8oaAhJtEALw_wcB If you're not familiar with it, the track is similar but will not connect to our current tracks. The cars are slightly larger, less quality, but are designed to have pieces break off (and easily put back together) as the cars crash. I know it's not the quite same, but may be worth looking into, as you can buy the entire set with cars for the price of one of the old cars, and more cars can be additionally purchased.

@All-ScaleSlotCarDen21 күн бұрын
The 1:32 digital control unit controls everything, so the 1:43 digital cars should have all of the same functions, including 6 cars on the track at a time (instead of just 3 on the digital Go track), pits, fuel, etc. You can program the cars (via the control unit) to drive at reduced speeds, or (1-10) maximum speeds so that you'll have to learn how slow down to take corners.
@AutismApostle20 күн бұрын
@All-ScaleSlotCars thank you. I thought the cars would get confused and sync as cars 1-3 and again 1-3 (instead of 4-6), making 2 remotes sync with the same car after 3 cars are already paired. Have you ever tried it? I'm asking because I have digital 143 and it's quite basic and instead of investing all over to upgrade to 132 I was considering getting the power box and create a hybrid 143 track.
@AutismApostle20 күн бұрын
I found this answer online: This is advice from a US slot car enthusiast more familiar with the systems. Fitting D132 chip in 1:43 scale vehicle. There are a few different shaped D132 chips. And the 1:43 scale Carrera vehicles have some different shapes and widths. With that in mind, I had previously measured a D132 chip from a Formula 1 car, and looks like it should fit a 1:43 Nascar chassis/body, but with not so much room to spare. The Nascar vehicles seem to have the most room inside (especially in terms of width), compared to some of the other 1:43 models. I can't comment on the other style D132 chips, having not seen any first hand. Too bad Carrera does not make available D143 chips. But I read somewhere that the analog Go car motors may not work so well with the D143 chips anyway. (According to the German GO!!!! Forum this is true.) What does "black box" mean? This is a D132 "black box" where I had earlier removed it from the 1:32 scale track, and attached it to a 1:43 scale track. Fairly easy to accomplish and allowed me to confirm for myself, that the D132 black box and controllers would indeed work with the D143 cars. Red box? This is just the D143 version of the black box. Called "red box" because of the color red. I am currently using the red box until I have time to install the black box. Speed and Pace Car etc. The vehicle chip is integral to this functionality as mentioned . So only if the D132 chip is placed in the 1:43 vehicle, will this functionality be available. The black box alone will not provide it. Both D132 and D143 use the same light/sensor system. But there is a slight difference in the location of the light/sensor. From the same source: "Looking at the undersides of a D132 Formula 1 vehicle compared to a D143 Nascar chassis. (For those unfamiliar, the trigger light is the white dot just left of centerline.) The D132 light is 1/2 inch out from center line, while the D143 light is only 3/8 inch out from centerline. That is a 1/8 inch difference." "In practice, I am not sure if the 1/8 inch difference will be a problem. During some short testing, I ran the D132 Formula 1 car over a D143 lane change track, and it triggered the lane change mechanism no problem. But over and over again at speed, I can't confirm for sure if it will be flawless. I think the Nascar chassis may allow shifting the D132 chip slightly to one side, so in effect the difference in light location could be reduced to 1/16 inch. At that small difference, I am thinking it should not be a problem triggering the lane change. But perhaps someone who has chipped a 1:43 car with a D132 chip and run it a lot on 1:43 track could confirm the success of regular lane changes." You can also fit vac or resin bodies, with windows and drivers, on the D143 chassis. It's just like an analog chassis. Also, remember that D143 does not have dynamic braking
@All-ScaleSlotCarDen19 күн бұрын
@@AutismApostle I was just able to conduct a test. Unfortunately, I only have three natural D143 cars. I do have a fourth 143 that has been digitally chipped with a 132 chip. I was able to program all four on four separate controllers (the one with the 132 chip on controller 1, the others on 2-4). While the one with the 132 chip was able to perform ghost and pace car functions, the others would not. I wish I had a fourth, but at the very least a race could be run with three (or possibly more) D143 cars, with the rest being 143 cars chipped to be digital. I know this doesn't really help, and I understand your dilemma. I don't use them much, so I don't know how well their motors will hold up after a digital chip installation. That's also another dilemma, in that this is a discontinued product, no longer having support from the manufacturer, with nothing new as far as cars and track pieces on the horizon. But as long as you are fine with that, it's not an issue at all. Please keep me posted on your journey through this. I can help further if you need it.
