Our family had 2 Corvairs when I was very young. Lost Dad when I was 5, but remember driving with him in the car. ♥ Great video, thank you! #tessaslegacy

A bit disappointing it's not a stick, but that engine could be souped-up very nicely. Turbocharge? 🤔

Personally I like the 70ish Capri. It had its own personality rather than being a copy of the Mustang

The Mercury Capri should never be in competition with mustang. "Ford puts it on wheels."

Really neat little Buick! You don’t see these much anymore. Some very nice upgrades on this car. I’m impressed with it John!

Lovely example. It's hard to believe that someone would call a thirty-pus year old car with 56K miles 'high mileage", but in this case it is. There are so many Allantes with mileage in the low teens because they were almost always someone's weekend or play car.

One of the best things about these, laser and Daytona, was that insurance companies had NO CLUE about them power wise with the turbocharged modes. Half, if not more, the insurance costs and after you learned how to “pull” yourself through turns, you could beat up on TransAm, Camaro, and Mustang all day long. Plus, you could up the boost a few pounds and daily them without any issues.

From the factory, 1964 convertibles had a “deVille” script on the rear fenders. Not “Coupe deVille.”

All first gen cars - outside the Spyder, with the turbo and Carter YF - were dual carb. I had 2 - both a '62 and a '63 - my biggest problem with the styling of the early car - save the doors, hood and trunk lid - it was one piece , and if you wrecked it - you had to just about cut body parts from another car and section them in, and it would lessen the structural strength !!

Funny how this is a "car" when the PT Cruiser sedan was for the EPA was a "truck". Still see these from time to time, although as you stated, few are in very rough shape. Love the colour.

Ive almost never seen a black Allante. This one is a absolute beautiful specimen. The hard question is if you buy it do you drive it? And if so how much? 😮❤❤❤❤❤

Why wouldnt you have tried the power top? Your just "assuming" it doesnt work. Cant you get the book reproduced by a convertible top maker? Beautiful car though love that blue.
@orphancargarage57467 күн бұрын
It’s no assumption. The top doesn’t operate. The motor cycles but the top doesn’t move. HIGHLY likely the piston orings have leaked the needed hydraulic fluid. It’s a common occurrence on these.

lotsa extra non factory delivered parts on this car like the grill badge, top of fender lights, and vent lights. NONE of those were shipped on any 62 GT's. And the body modification or shortening is horrendously out of scale and destroys the lines of this car.

This thing is built like a tank. Has like 20 bolts holding down just the front bumper cover. Rubberized spray bottom of doors and body, rubber door protectors, bottom end built to take 600hp, completely overbuilt (the turbo version) oil AND coolant cooled turbo, flip up headlights, amazing recaro like seat, unrepeatable cockpit, AC, power steering, CD, cassette, ignition key light up ring in 90! power windows, power bets, room for children in the back, oversized radiator most of them were BRASS! just an amazing amazing car, still have my 1g 1990 Rs, stock.

Beautiful classic 69 Corvair. Great color and the mags are spot on. I had a 65 Corvair monza back in the day ., white with red interior and it was a great car . I loved it alot and regretted selling it to this day. ....and just saying Ralph Nader ...never cared for him or his book 📙. Rubbish...Great cars . Love the plate . Love the car . Great video and thanks for sharing!

The dash display is an issue on many of these, but this one looks like it all works. My friend has a road master with a dead dash display and he uses an app on his phone for speeds and mileage (for gas fills), 300kms and he fills up. Really nice car John. Hopefully a collector who drives it once a month picks it up. Those northstars don't like sitting. They pee on the floor if you ignore them. Cheers 🇨🇦

93 was the favorite model year because they had the Northstar. As long as the head gaskets are done and the 3rd gear clutch housing on the transmission there should be no issues with the drive train

never buy the first or last year model of a car particularly one that was built in so few numbers as the Allante was around 21,430 over 7 model years yet in the same period the Deville sold around 1,000,000 though a majority of them were Sedan Deville models
