Thanks, great video. I put a new 750 on my Cleveland, ran good before new carb. Couldn't get it to start back up then realized I didn't have a few of the plugs snapped back in the distributor cap. After that, I think it was flooded. It would start, run for 10 seconds, then die. Let it sit a day to try again. Came back the next day, didn't stay running. Then I adjusted the choke per your recommendation, just a blade thick. Fired right up. Running good now! Thanks for the tip!

So I have a serious question. You drained and replaced the oil in the lower unit (section) of the engine, before flushing and fogging the cylinders. However won't the flushing just get water into the lower unit of your Johnson again, allowing it to possibly freeze and cause the issues you stated?? 😮😮🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄😬😬😬 I'm wondering if somehow you did things in the reverse order and the flushing and fogging should be complete FIRST, before replacing the lower unit oil......?? Please advise........😮😮😮😐😐😐😐😐😶😶😶😶😶😶😶😶😶🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😶😶😶😶😶😶😶 Mine is a 2001 Johnson 30 hp..........😮

HI, so my needle and seat, there is no spring action to my needle.. If I turn it upside down, needle goes one way, turn it the other way, and the needle goes the other way. Is there supposed to have a spring action? I don't have the rebuild kit to see what the news ones do.

Great Videos. I watched all three. So I have a 1987 Ford RV E350 with a Holley partnered 4bbl. I don't have any room in there to do all these adjustments. I have to build it, slap it, and go. I was thinking the screws on both side, just turn out 1.5 times. Hopefully the floats will be correct, and go. I may be able to adjust the floats. I'm nervous, never rebuilt a carb, but it's leaving from the accelerator pump center, onto the manifold. Will just doing the basic idle screws be enough? I'm not looking for extreme snappy performance, just go, secondary works, and it doesn't leak. Also...can you assist me with what kit to get? Holley built it for Ford, but the list number doesn't have an 'R' at front, so that Holley chart doesn't seem to work. The List number on the carb is 50260-3 Manufacture date is 2616, so it was manufactured June time frame 2016, but it's an RV, and she has sat a lot. I just got her from the Lady who owned her before. Carb is a mess. It's electric choke, and I'm guess vacuum secondaries. Interesting thing, is when I first got it running, the down kick didn't seem to work, but I've driven her a few times, up until accelerator pump started leaking, and the kickdown did work one time, otherwise it was just dumping gas until it went faster. I'm so nervous about rebuilding her. I'll be using the carb cleaner in a can, and compressed air in a can...I don't have a big shop or garage. Your videos have calmed me, but a couple things, my fuel inline is different than yours, but the core carb, I presume is just like yours. Could I use that same Edelbrock kit? Internet isn't helping with that 50260-3 number. Thanks for the videos and your time.

Thanks for watching. The carb list number says it is for a 1985-1987 Ford truck. I have nearly the same carb that came on my boat. Someone obviously changed it years ago. You can use your truck's application at most parts stores to find a kit for it. I did for mine. www.carburetion.com/CarbNumber.asp?Number=R50260-3

I don't believe it's recommended to reuse head bolts.
@RebeldryversGarage
@RebeldryversGarage 16 күн бұрын
You definitely don't want to reuse torque to yield bolts on an engine. Many modern engines have these. Technically, reusing a bolt depends on how much stretch it has endured from being torqued before. Measuring bolt stretch requires special tools. On these old Ford engines, not using anything special in the way of gaskets or aftermarket heads, reusing the head bolts is fine.

those blocks arent that easy to find. i would go for 6000 max thats all you need save the block do not destroy it its one of gms jewels. it will make a 350 look like its standing still on take off if its set up right. my brother had a worn out 327 2 bbl with a 4 speed saginaw in a beat up 1968 camaro that poor thing had tons of power but it beleive it or not burned more oil than gas. nothing like sitting at a stop light and having to rool down the windows chocking from burning all of the oil .it had a broken rear leaf spring in the rear was scary to drive.hesold it to a freind and his freind had got stopped and got a ticket for exessive oil smoke. pretty rediculous. dont know what happened to it it was about 40 plus years ago.thought i would run that by you. a nice set of flat top forged pistons, 0.030 over,cam and dual plane good carb electronic ignition and hang on. you dont need any zombie ls stuppidity. just one screamin s.o.b ing 327. i am sure it will be a awesome street killer! take care and go after some brand xs.

This generation of Firebird does not have an inside hood release. It’s under the front license plate area. As others have said this is a 1978 as those are Fisher style T-tops which were not used in 1977. I would agree that this is possibly a Y88 Gold SE, and if so and it’s a true force speed it’s certainly worth restoring. The only way to verify if it’s a true Y88 would be to send the VIN number to PHS and get an information packet on it.

Nice car and your car seems to drive very smooth. I am working on a similar motor and trans combo. Are you happy with the cam and driveability. What kind of vacuum are you getting at idle and will it work with power vacuum brakes?
@RebeldryversGarage
@RebeldryversGarage 2 ай бұрын
I have been mostly daily driving it the last couple of months. Drivability is just fine. It's pulling plenty of vacuum at idle, 12-14 inches at 900 rpm. I can't tell you how it would work with vacuum power brakes as I have hydroboost. The cam is a Nitrous/Blower grind from Comp, with a wide lobe separation angle, that helps with vacuum.
