Just had this need and works like a charm at a house with one router...... however when I moved the system (7 zones) to a new house with numerous AP's, I'm only able to see the zones when I set them up and connected to that AP...... once I walk away, I start losing the ability to see/control the AirPort Express....... Any ideas?

If you dont already have one , go for the quest 3 . It seems meta is already trying to push out the quest 2 with exclusives only on QUEST 3 . Which sucks . I have a quest 2 and rift s currently so buying a quest 3 doesnt seem justified , yet but with Batman Arkham shadows be ONLY on 3 and im guessing more will follow i will probably be FORCED to get a quest 3 at some point lol . Either way , if dont own any spend the extra and future proof alittle. I say alittle as meta is getting like phone makers in releasing a new unit every year or less lol .😊

Good question, I don’t have anything like that on my sim rig, but I would guess you’re looking for something like a Buttkicker device? Those are a few hundred dollars, but if you’re looking for more of a motion mover, those can start at $1K bucks and depending on their capabilities, can go well up into the thousands for just that one component. I hope this helps.

@@BPBomber you’re very welcome, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I’m looking forward to making more sim racing videos as my sim rig evolves. So far, I’ve enjoyed keeping my sim rig simple, but believe me, there is always a constant itch to upgrade. Motion movers are interesting because they are definitely a key component of high end sim rigs, but I wouldn’t say they are essential when getting started. They are also pretty cost prohibitive in comparison to other components that give you more “bang for the buck”, like upgrading your wheelbase / wheel / pedals. So, keep your focus on the components that your body touches first. There is certainly a lot to learn when getting started, but you will definitely have more fun and learn faster by upgrading from a simple setup over time than just diving into the most expensive setup money can buy “just because you can”, although it is very tempting. To me, it is like a musical instrument, just like guitars. You can be a beginner and go out and buy a $10k guitar, but you won’t sound any better for it. Start with an affordable guitar, and work your way up to it and by the time you know exactly the reason why that guitar costs $10k, you will be ready to play it.

Hi! I'm looking foward on transforming my PC on a gaming console. I'm integrating Playnite with RetroArch, but for some reason PS1, PS2, Saturn and N64 games don't open through Playnite (only RetroArch). What is going wrong (other platforms are working fine)?

It’s true, we are starting to see some Quest 3 exclusives come out, and more announced. But for most users, Quest 2 is still fine especially for less than half the price. I’m really curious if Quest 3S comes out soon, how much it will change this dynamic within the Quest lineup.

How u get 240 hz out of this cause just got this one.?
@dylanmacintosh
@dylanmacintosh 4 күн бұрын
Great question, to get 240hz mode out of the Vizio MQX it has to be the 50” model specifically, set to Game Mode, and you have to be using a Gaming PC with a dedicated graphics card. If this is your setup, then you might have to do some changes to your Display Settings to get it to show the 240hz option. Assuming Windows, open your Display Settings, and select the MQX 50”- then change the MQX 50” Display Resolution to 1920 x 1080p. Then, scroll down and select Advanced display settings, and you should see the option appear for 240hz. Once you make any changes, make sure to click “yes, keep changes”.

My main challenge at the moment is that this arrangement didn’t work great on public transport in my city. Travelling quickly between cell tower zones means that my phone needs to switch between towers; also trains going through tunnels can cause lag / drops. But this is an inherent limitation of streaming, probably wont be as much of an issue when we have more 5G coverage
@dylanmacintosh
@dylanmacintosh 4 күн бұрын
I agree, using game streaming out and about really shows how not all networks are created equally, and even good bandwidth doesn’t mean good latency, which is more important for game streaming. I did a video on this on my channel, streaming from the car, the airport terminal, the plane in-air wifi, and the hotel wifi. You can watch it here if you’re interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIulqZWbn7-XbNEsi=cFmeQSaJx4B4nKCh Although this is the state of the internet in the present day, I think it will continue to improve and hopefully someday soon we won’t ever wonder what we worried about. Like comparing Dial-Up to today’s fiber connections, or 2G to 5G. Someday, hopefully we just have consistent, fast connection everywhere. We’re already seeing it on 5G like you said, sometimes I get faster download speeds on 5G on my iPhone than my home fiber connection 🤯 Starlink style low-latency satellite internet is also fascinating to me. Imagine they could miniaturize that Starlink-style modem that you see at Best Buy into a cell phone, so instead of 5G, or a traditional satellite phone, it’s just all satellite “wifi” on your smartphone. That would be really interesting, as you could be on like, in the middle of nowhere, and still be game streaming on your phone 🤣 Thanks for watching, cheers!

I love Moonlight! It's the predominant reason why I don't buy a SteamDeck. Every time I think about it I realize that I don't need it. I'm not going to play a SteamDeck anywhere other than in my home and with Moonlight, I can play all my PC games and Emus and even create custom shortcuts to all my games and even create ROM shortcuts with thumbnails to reflect as such. I boot Moonlight and all my games show up and with my strong internet connection, my phone and a GameSir Pro or anything from Anbernic or Retroid, that's is all I need.

Edit: Resolved. I “Forget” the WiFi network on both pc and steam deck then readded it back. Need help troubleshooting… Upgraded to windows 11 and now my steam deck isn’t seeing my pc. Added nvidia GeForce to firewall, tried to disable firewall. Uninstall/reinstall both sunshine and moonshine on pc and deck. Tried to manually enter ip address. Verified they’re both on the same network. Tried wired with WiFi connection and just WiFi connection. Steamlink immediately sees my pc/deck and works fine but moonlight doesn’t see my pc. Only an issue since upgrading to win 11. Any ideas?
@dylanmacintosh
@dylanmacintosh 23 күн бұрын
That’s a great question, I’ve only had similar problems with Sunshine once in the past, and it was solved by resetting my network settings on my Windows 11 host PC as described here: m.majorgeeks.com/content/page/how_to_reset_network_settings_in_windows_10.html I believe what you are referring to as the GeForce in the firewall is not necessary but couldn’t hurt. Next, I don’t think you are doing this, but just a note for everyone, if you are using Sunshine, you should *not* have Nvidia Gamestream enabled in the Nvidia Experience, the Nvidia Gamestream options should be turned off in the Nvidia Experience software since you are using Sunshine “instead”. I think if you have Gamestream enabled and open Sunshine there is a pop up box telling you to turn off Nvidia Gamestream before you can use Sunshine. And finally, it could be an issue on your router. Sometimes when upgrading from Windows 10 to 11, the router sees the PC as the “same name” but as two separate devices, so they overlap. I’ve had this happen to me and it’s very annoying, but you can try simply renaming your Windows 11 PC to anything else like “My PC2”, you can try turning OFF IPv6 on your adapter settings on your Windows PC, or if you are able to you can completely reset your router to default settings and set it up “fresh”, but set it to the same wifi SSID and password (so that all your devices simply reconnect once the router is back online). I hope these troubleshooting steps help you, if not please let me know how it went and I’d be happy to provide further troubleshooting tips. P.S. I’m compiling the most common issues for a dedicated troubleshooting video to help more people. And of course thanks for watching! 🙏

Quest 2 for $199 is insane value… I still can’t quite believe it. Especially since some retailers are offering $50 Meta Quest Store gift cards with some of their promotions, it’s more like $150 which is just nuts. About the straps, I never had much of a problem with the stock straps but every one’s head size / head shape is different and I’m sure the better straps are definitely worth it for some people. I’m curious to try the elite strap now, or maybe a third party one. People rave about the BOBO VR accessories.

My quest 2 is coming in tomorrow. I was just wondering since you say the quest 3 is better visually, by does that still apply for me? I see the quest 3 has a better resolution but my question is does the quest 2 close the gap in speed and graphics (minus the resolution) if I'm planning on only using my quest 2 as a PCVR on a PC with a 4070 rtx?
@dylanmacintosh
@dylanmacintosh 29 күн бұрын
That is a great question, and I’m glad you asked. Because the Quest 3 has a higher native resolution, with pancake lenses, it will always look better visually than the Quest 2 with lower resolution and fresnel lenses. BUT when using as a PCVR headset, the texture resolution of PCVR games running on a gaming pc with a 4070 will already look much better than what the Quest 2’s internal graphics can muster, so it will look much better than a standalone Quest 2 game, and PCVR on Quest 2 will also look better than a standalone Quest 3 game. PCVR on Quest 2 will look good, especially for the Quest 2’s current price of $199. The only combo that would look better, is a PCVR game on Quest 3, or another headset much more expensive than any of the Meta offerings. The question then becomes do you want it to look a bit sharper and clearer for double the money or more with heavy diminishing returns, when it already looks pretty good on Quest 2? It’s a tough call, but I would recommend trying the Quest 2, and seeing if you’re happy with it. If you’re happy, great! If you’re not happy, try to return / exchange it during your retailers return window, and if not that, just sell it used when you’re ready to upgrade. I hope this helps!

@dylanmacintosh
@dylanmacintosh Ай бұрын
Great question, it really depends on the games you want to stay downloaded on the unit. Some games are just a couple GBs, and some are dozens. But as a roundabout number I’d say on average you could download about 10-12 games on the 128GB model, if some are larger and some are smaller. Also, I wouldn’t be afraid of uninstalling / reinstalling games to make space when needed, the Quest makes it really easy, especially if you have a decent internet connection for fast download speeds. The higher storage models only really come in handy when you absolutely need lots of games to all stay installed at the same time, like if you’re traveling for a long period of time and taking the headset with you, but that’s getting really specific… know what I mean? Anyway, I hope this helps!

Hey, are you referring to something else other than the operating system? I have looked it up, googling like a madman for an hour yesterday just to make sure I had my facts straight, and I cannot find any information stating that the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 run anything other than v64 of what's now called Meta Horizon OS (at the time of writing this comment, they just renamed it a couple days ago). Perhaps the two device models of Quest 2 and Quest 3 don't have exact feature parity with each other, but the operating system is most certainly the same, Meta Horizon OS v64 currently. But that's kind of like how all iPhones from 2018 to now run iOS 17... It is most certainly the same operating system, same version number and everything, just some features are locked to certain device SKUs is that what you're getting at?
