Why are you swinging your arm so aggressively when u walk basically nipping him / correcting him every few seconds is this because he always wants to get ahead when on a heal or ..? Obviously I don’t know the dog personally but I feel like this would confuse the dog by corrections him every few seconds
@EncounterCaneCorsoКүн бұрын
Very few corrections were made. Twice his pace was too fast and when he reacted to another dog. Other than that he’s always a great walking companion. 🙂

what? dogs are perfectly able to digest raw foods including chicken...it's cooked chicken with bones in that shouldn't be fed to dogs

I love taking my Rottweiler out to the park! All the different sights, smells, and experiences. He does very well! A little nervous but bounces back, and lays down when asked.

How often do you socialize your dog? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
@AbsoluteLeeNot18 күн бұрын
This is very helpful, thank you! I have a dominant reactive pittie and though she sometimes does well with puppies, she’s unpredictable. At some point I definitely want to get her a sibling and I’ve been a little worried about how to handle it if she has a “get out mah house” reaction to her future sibling. So I will definitely be referring back to this video.
@EncounterCaneCorso18 күн бұрын
Most dogs respond well to a strong pack leader. You’ve already done a great job of accessing your dog so you understand what to expect. The key will be to continue to emphasize what’s acceptable and not acceptable. It’s just in a dominant dog’s nature to test boundaries. 🙂

What i did for my adult and puppy is this. Is that its mine your just borrowing it. I had the puppy watch me as i give and take the toy from the adult. I give corrections when the puppy naturally tries to get it. Then the same thing as i play with the puppy. Thats just to get the point across of dont fight. I also get 2 of every toy so they have no reason to fight anyways. Good job

Having a year old Rotti I found socialization a challenge as little yappy dogs gets her excited as she thinks they want to play. Or her mommy instincts sets in and she wants to correct them. I will be avoiding places where off leash yappy dogs are allowed.
@EncounterCaneCorsoАй бұрын
It’s a challenge. We don’t do dog parks or off leash with other dogs. However, we regularly socialize our dogs outside of the dog parks. Teaching them to not react to all of the different stimuli. Also, places like Lowe’s/Home Depot are great training grounds.

Perfect breed to match your meathead lifestyle
@plastikloserАй бұрын
Most important thing. Take away all food and toys so their can be nothing to fight over. Bring them back later when appropriate First thing is to make sure you dog WANTS another dog. If they meet on neutral grround and you get a bad reaction STOP. Dont force something you want over what they need. Second thing. Have the puppy in your arms being introduced to other dog. If your dog actually respects you they will not harm the other dog and will investigate safely Third thing. Use crates and fences to set boundaroies and check each other out with you being right their Fourth thing. Once they are comfortable with each other take them for walks together, and start teaching them to share toys Fifth thing. Go slow, until the dog is several years old and fully grown, the dynamic can change during puberty

It is a big responsibility yes, but not as much as you think. Once the training is completed after they go through puberty it is engrained in their brain usually. The initial lift is a commitment, but it does ease over time.

It’s interesting because the intelligence is obvious, but the maturity has been slow. We’re approaching three years. Finally, we are seeing the changes taking place.

Very good video! I have an 8.5 year old Rottie. While he is getting up there he still has life in him and playful. He doesn’t like to share his toys. He is also very dominate and has gotten into fights at doggy daycare while we were on vacation. I am getting an 8 week old male Rottie in 2 weeks. I am going to take these initial 3 day steps and see how it goes. Thank you

That’s a good question and one that will evoke a lot of passionate responses. I’ll just say that it’s imperative to not take everyone’s opinions, including doctors, as gospel. Everyone has their own agenda and often your needs aren’t their priority. Research, then make a decision that you can live with. Thanks for watching the video. 😎

I had a Cane Corso she would get this usually in hot weather and when playing a lot, this usually happens when more blood flow happens to the head of my cane Corso. I’d stop playing with her and rub and slightly push it back in, I’d walk her and small amounts of strenuous activity for the next couple of days, but it pop up around 7 times in her lifetime. she died from an enlarged valve in her heart at the age of 5.

The method I choose is as follows: Call your dog’s name > Give voice and hand command at the same time. The full video on our channel may help you a little better.
