This is what the Mayor Jeff Gore put out November 14 at 8:44 PM · Buc-ee’s…where to begin?? I’ll do the best job I can at explaining the issues at the buc-ee’s site which are really non issues … but they make a great news story. Years ago the city of Huber Heights entered into a Joint Economic Development agreement with Clark County. The land that’s east of 235 and north of I-70 is in that development agreement. This covers the Old Dominion trucking site and the Buc-ee’s site. Approximately 4 years ago when Old Dominion proposed their initial building, part of that facility sat in the joint agreement area. Old Dominion ran into soil issues on the far eastern edge of the site and they decided to relocate their facility further west which took it out of the joint agreement area and moved it 100% into Huber Heights. It was at this point Clark County refused to provide sewer service to the new Huber Heights Business customer Old Dominion Trucking. It was this refusal of service by Clark County that forced Huber Heights to go to the EPA and get permission to install above ground sewer storage tanks. The EPA finally agreed and that’s how we provided the fix. Part of that approval was contingent upon us providing underground sewer access in the future. It was at that point the city decided to invest in expanding our sewer and water services to the eastern edge of the city so we would no longer be dependent on the whims of another local government agency. Huber Heights has spent the last 3 years designing, planning and installing water and sewer lines to that area of the city with ZERO pushback from Clark County…..that is until the Buc-ee’s project was announced. Once Buc-ee’s was announced, Clark County filed the suit against us to stop us from providing service …. Service that they just 2 years prior refused to give to Old Dominion. It has been a year and a half and the Clark County magistrate assigned to the case has still yet to make a decision. The petition filed by Buc-ee’s is out of frustration to get a decision made one way or the other. In the end … water and sewer service will be provided to Buc-ee’s whether it is by Huber Heights or by Clark County. The services are there and will be provided…that’s not the question. The question is who will provide the service. Hopefully that piece makes sense. Now the 2nd issue mentioned in the news is the AES power lines on the site. There are 2 power lines that clearly run along poles that are in the middle of the building pad. Those poles need removed as the lines need rerouted in order for the construction crews to continue. AES was supposed to have that work completed last month. They didn’t. What I can tell you is they were onsite today beginning that work. This is great news and we should have an approximate timeline of completion within the next few days. Both issues of water, sewer and power lines have created the perfect opportunity for news agencies to have a story. I’m confident there will be a resolution to all of this sooner than later but it’s still in the hands of a Clark County magistrate to finally make a decision some 18 months later. Huber Heights still has several businesses in Center Point 70 who will now benefit from having access to our water and sewer rather than being serviced by Clark County. Our decision to expand those services to that area was a good decision then and remains a good decision now. Have a good night, and a great weekend. See you around town! Mayor Jeff

I've been to both Richmond and the Sevierville locations.. my question is why wasn't this dispute settled before it was even built? They need to take out those utility poles before it can even be built.. they're just dragging your feet on this.. I doubt if it will be open by Christmas next year not at this rate.. I've been through that car wash in Sevierville it's 4 minutes and 5 seconds long

I came to this bucces location in Kentucky. I parked right near the pumps just long the side of the grass it slopes down. I love that they sell bbq supplies, a smokers, tempted to drive down an haul one of those old country smoker home to Canada.
