When using with iphone, do you have to change any settings on the phone for it to work and to bypass the phone's recording mic?
@EpicDayEveryDay17 күн бұрын
No, I didn't have to change any settings using my iPhone 14. I believe the device detects it automatically as it would if you plugged a set of headphones into the port.

About the wine bottles - I tried using these spikes but I needed to refill the bottles frequently. Any tips on that?
@EpicDayEveryDay17 күн бұрын
That's a definite downside to the wine bottles with spikes. We haven't figured out a way to keep those filled automatically. That's the cool thing about the Thirsty Earth system -- you can hook it up to your irrigation system to keep the reservoir and ollas filled
@boazmeiriphotographyinc.612117 күн бұрын
@@EpicDayEveryDay I ordered one system but I also have 12 spikes that I was using but got tired of filling them every 3-4 days and I want to find a better way to use them. By the way, any reason why you use glass and not plastic bottles? Because of the exposure to sun? I was thinking of using plastic bottles and make a small hole and use them in a similar way to Thirsty Earth
@EpicDayEveryDay17 күн бұрын
@@boazmeiriphotographyinc.6121 I really like your idea, but the exposure to sun is definitely something to consider. To be honest, we hadn't thought about using plastic bottles!

It looks like there's a free iPhone app called "WavePad" that will let you record and edit audio. Give that a shot, and try doing some test recordings by placing the mic at various distances to find the "sweet spot"

Honestly great value system but its only 16 bit something important to note. If that's not a deal breaker for you then its such a great a system just wish it was 24 bits since im processing audio a lot unfortunately
@EpicDayEveryDay5 ай бұрын
That's a good point. Thanks for mentioning that!
@Will_K.4 ай бұрын
I’m new to audio so pardon my ignorance. So the audio actually sounds quite good to me, so in what ways would the bit depth (16vs24) affect daily use of this system? You mention post processing, does that extra data allow you to do more filtering, compression etc without causing distortion or something? Or does the bit depth affect the dynamic range or something, making it harder to set an appropriate gain level?
@EpicDayEveryDay4 ай бұрын
@@Will_K. No worries, I’m not an audio expert either! From what I understand, it’s about the dynamic range. With 24 bits, I believe you’re capturing more data, so there’s more to work with in post processing. For me, 16 bits is fine for the videos I’m creating. If I do any post processing, it’s to reduce background noise, and it’s not often that I have to do that.

Each microphone transmitter can record up to 4 GB of audio, and you can transfer the audio files to your computer using a cord that comes with the system You may also be able to connect the wireless receiver to your camera if it has a compatible connection port. The CM28 is very flexible

Hey@@MikeOrazzi - I'll make a short to show everyone how to do this, but here are the steps for syncing in Adobe Premiere: 1.) Drag the audio and video files into the Project panel 2.) Select the audio and video files in the Project Panel and right-click or ctrl-click on them 3.) In the menu that pops up, select "Merge clips..." 4.) In the "Merge Clips" menu, select the "Audio track channel" and "1" in the drop down menu. 5.) Make sure none of the checkboxes are checked under "Audio" and click the "OK" button. After the audio and video clips are merged, you'll want to mute the audio track(s) on the video so that the sound is coming from the audio file only. Let us know how it goes!

Hi - Thank you so much for your video! I learned alot. Can you tell me why it helps to put the Thirsty Earth olla system on a timer? I thought the system was supposed to let the water run from the trough 24/7, and the garden drank what it needed. When using the timer, how many hours a day did you run the water?
@EpicDayEveryDay Жыл бұрын
You’re welcome and thanks for your comment! There’s a water reservoir that is hooked up to the ollas. It needs to be refilled regularly, so instead of filling it up manually with a hose, we hooked it up to our irrigation system with a timer that runs every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The reservoir has a shutoff valve so it doesn’t overflow after it’s filled up. The timer basically helps keep the reservoir filled up
