I just bought mine on sale for $78 on Amazon. I'm blown away with the audio quality of these things compared to the bigger competitors. I've been a Rode fanboy for years, but these Underdogs are giving them a run for their money big time.

$78? They have it for $90 "on sale" now. How do you sync the audio with the videos if you record to the receiver?
@LetThySingleEyeBeStill4 ай бұрын
@@MikeOrazzi I use a program called Plural Eyes created by Red Giant to sync all my audio for me.
@EpicDayEveryDay4 ай бұрын
Hey@@MikeOrazzi - I'll make a short to show everyone how to do this, but here are the steps for syncing in Adobe Premiere: 1.) Drag the audio and video files into the Project panel 2.) Select the audio and video files in the Project Panel and right-click or ctrl-click on them 3.) In the menu that pops up, select "Merge clips..." 4.) In the "Merge Clips" menu, select the "Audio track channel" and "1" in the drop down menu. 5.) Make sure none of the checkboxes are checked under "Audio" and click the "OK" button. After the audio and video clips are merged, you'll want to mute the audio track(s) on the video so that the sound is coming from the audio file only. Let us know how it goes!

When using with iphone, do you have to change any settings on the phone for it to work and to bypass the phone's recording mic?
@EpicDayEveryDay17 күн бұрын
No, I didn't have to change any settings using my iPhone 14. I believe the device detects it automatically as it would if you plugged a set of headphones into the port.

Honestly great value system but its only 16 bit something important to note. If that's not a deal breaker for you then its such a great a system just wish it was 24 bits since im processing audio a lot unfortunately
@EpicDayEveryDay5 ай бұрын
That's a good point. Thanks for mentioning that!
@Will_K.4 ай бұрын
I’m new to audio so pardon my ignorance. So the audio actually sounds quite good to me, so in what ways would the bit depth (16vs24) affect daily use of this system? You mention post processing, does that extra data allow you to do more filtering, compression etc without causing distortion or something? Or does the bit depth affect the dynamic range or something, making it harder to set an appropriate gain level?
@EpicDayEveryDay4 ай бұрын
@@Will_K. No worries, I’m not an audio expert either! From what I understand, it’s about the dynamic range. With 24 bits, I believe you’re capturing more data, so there’s more to work with in post processing. For me, 16 bits is fine for the videos I’m creating. If I do any post processing, it’s to reduce background noise, and it’s not often that I have to do that.

How do I import the sound from the transmitter to my Mac book? Or can I connect the cord directly to my camera ?
@EpicDayEveryDay6 ай бұрын
Each microphone transmitter can record up to 4 GB of audio, and you can transfer the audio files to your computer using a cord that comes with the system You may also be able to connect the wireless receiver to your camera if it has a compatible connection port. The CM28 is very flexible

What model camera are you using?

Sony a7iv
@EpicDayEveryDay6 ай бұрын
You should be able to connect the wireless receiver with your a7iv using the cord that came with the CM28. Don't try to connect it using the USB-C port. Based on my research, that won't work. This "best practices" post on reddit might also help you: www.reddit.com/r/SonyAlpha/comments/xb68f4/best_practices_when_setting_a7iv_audio_recording/. Good luck!

My playback volume is low with transmitter. How do I correct this?
@EpicDayEveryDay3 ай бұрын
You may need to place your mic closer to the person's mouth while recording. Have you tried normalizing the audio in post production?

@@EpicDayEveryDay I don’t know how to do that. My first time trying this. I’m connected to my iPhone to record. I have to find an app to edit as well
@EpicDayEveryDay3 ай бұрын
It looks like there's a free iPhone app called "WavePad" that will let you record and edit audio. Give that a shot, and try doing some test recordings by placing the mic at various distances to find the "sweet spot"

That's a great tip, thanks! I've also noticed that there are CM28 kits that don't come with the clip-on mics, so people should make sure those are included if that's something they want. Thanks for watching and commenting!
