Anyone have any tips where I might locate 12"x12"x1.5" styrofoam sheets cheaply in the US? Is this something I'd find at some kind of supply store I'm missing? My only sources I've located are kind of pricey. Like $30 for five pieces from amazon.

What is the thickness of the Styrofoam squares? 1.5"? 2.0"?
@SupernovaBuildingGuideКүн бұрын
4cm or 1,6”. I wanted it to be just a bit higher than my infantry models.

The tiny flash of "trigger warning: airbrush" is so funny. You can use two foam cutters, miniature table saw, 5 different sizes of brush, 75$ of caulk and bulk paint and other materials, a 3d printer, and if you then take out a ~100$ airbrush and compressor you have to account for the guy on every hobby video who goes "b-b-b-but I don't have one of thoooooose this 100 hour project is suddenly not applicable to me anymore!!!!"

How does this terrian acutally play for Warhammer? Can you actually use tanks/vehicles' or are they simply shot of the board?
@SupernovaBuildingGuide3 күн бұрын
That is a very good question! These trenches are too wide for vehicles. A landraider would make it and all walkers and skimmers. I am planning to make no man’s land tiles soon to solve this.

I've watched several modular trench videos. They typically fall into a couple categories - quick to make, but too simple to look realistic, or diorama level builds that are too complex to repeat multiple times. I think you've found a sweet spot between those two extremes! Great looking gameboard!

everyone making dark brown muddy trenches for the western front, no one doing trenches for the levant where the soil is different (More yellow and red hues). And, you know, it's where New Antioch IS. Minor complaint of the entire trench genre XD.

Awesome! Very inspiring. Q- Why did you use flagstones instead of timber? Trenches are never meant to be that permanent, even if they end up being used for much longer than initially intended. Just curious. Thanks
@SupernovaBuildingGuide6 күн бұрын
Thanks bro! I used them both. And timber, bricks and corrugated metal for the walls. Just because it looks cool and gives something extra to the whole build.
@dartmart92636 күн бұрын
@ I just looked at the main video and realized that they were incorporating existing permanent structures into their trench network, which I think is brilliant!

Could use glue to make it more gorey. Glue will dry, causing strands and strings that look much more viseral. (I am not exactly sure though which glue.) But it surely looks quite hardcore 😅 Edit: from a glue gun i believe.

I just wanted to say I love the fact you incorporated some of the design process in your video. This is what helps people truly develop their own skill. I've been to a similiar proces recently building a modular board with canals and wharves and it's nice to see you going trough the same itterations. In the end I opted for just diagonals on fixed offsets from the centre. Keep sharing!

Hi! Great build!! What is the recipe for the ”mud paste”?
@SupernovaBuildingGuide6 күн бұрын
Thanks Jazaki! I used 300 ml caulk, 100-150 ml water, 300-400 gr sand and a bit of tile grout. But you can deviate from this to make it the right thickness for your project. If you let it dry for about 30 minutes before you use it, it is more like a sculpting clay
