Bill Bruford was mi favorite drummer, but nobody could solo like Palmer! The man was a beast! Ginger Baker was great at solos too ..but Carl is King!!

When Johnny Carson asked Buddy Rich if he had any favorite contemporary drummer's in 1974..he said without hesitation Carl Palmer..he would go see ELP in concert when they came to N.Y. Carl demonstrates his ability in the style of Buddy Rich !!!!!

Greatest of all time. Saw Neil 3 times in concert as well as Carl, Neil wasn't in the same category. I know that this will piss people off, but it is my opinion. Also saw Carl 3times as well. Neil is my second favorite drummer of all time.

This is the one drummer coming out of the 60s to me they had more going for him than John Bonham dude was an absolute freak on the drums ninja like and he still is after all these years he's 78 years old yet he plays like he's 50. He certainly top four drummers of all time in my book. I mean tarkus Trilogy pictures at an exhibition an Brain Salad Surgery. Neil Peart Terry Bozzio bill bruford Carl Palmer Billy Cobham and Vinnie Coliuta. Six greatest drummers of all time

Learn the rudiments young drummers!! I know its tempting and fun just to go to straight rock and learn to play loud and fast (Dave Grohl) but you will be very limited. Carl Palmer shows what you can do when you become a true musician.

I'll never forget the first time I heard and saw Carl Palmer. It was the Brain Salad Surgery tour. They opened with Hoedown. My jaw dropped as Emerson tore into his part. Then seconds later when Carl rolled into his groove, my amazement doubled. The burst of energy emanating from the stage gripped my whole body. I'd never witnessed such power before.

In my career as an engineer I worked with many well known artists. Carl Palmer is absolutely the biggest arsewipe I ever had the displeasure of being in the same room with. Even worse than Peter Murphy. No comparison. Hoping the douche packs it in soon.
