The best effect can be seen in the photo from afar at 4:08, where the camouflages are placed between the trees. I must say that for my understanding of this topic, Germany and Serbia have the best camouflage. As for the flashlight tests and everything as a whole, the German one is the best, although the Serbian camouflage is slightly better, but it has a minus in the flashlight test.

Also the Bundeswehrmesser field knife of the 1970's with Kamerad Becker, which i find a far better version of the blade than the Kephart and the scabbard more protective, it also has other uses. It was a beautifully made knife. Comfortable, practical, kept a good edge, a good practical size, and stainless, but i could also get sparks from the striker on my Magnesium block. Also here was the older Bundeswehr pocket knife, non-locking, a good blade with saw, can opener, bottle opener etc supposedly replaced by the Victorinox one hand opening locking knife. We used many of these in the RAF and British Army doing adventure training in Germany not so long ago. What does the BW issue today? For some years i used the Eickhorn predecessor of the Glock knives made in Solingen then retired them as they became collector's items and replaced them with Glock basic and Glock with the root saw blade. I also used to have a German bowie hunting knife made with brand mark MPL of Solingen but could never find out who made them. The Eickhorn range is also good also another great German knife maker was Linder sadly now out of business. Does the use of aluminium cooking pot etc not worry you as to medical effects? Great videos, enjoyed them all, my salute from UK. Gruss Gott.
@BushcraftBuddy23 күн бұрын
Thank you my friend! Bundeswehr currently issues the Victorinox Soldatenmesser. Personally I am not so worried about the negative aspects of the aluminium mess kit. As I am not using it on a daily basis and I avoid long exposure of acids and salt (I add these ingredients at the very end or try to avoid them), I am not too worried, even though I am aware of the chemical processes. Cheers and Horrido to UK! Martin

Excellent vid and I like the music (some have commented that they don't). The whole vid conveys a sense of urgency, and being stealthy because something has happened. Which is exactly why I EDC my poncho (Dutch Army) if I'm carrying a bag, which serves as a get home bag, in case of some event meaning I can't get home by usual means and have to go on foot, and maybe find a patch of wooded ground to hunker down in. Just watched a few minutes of another vid where he very skilfully set up a perfect poncho shelter, but it took more than 20 minutes, and that's just what he edited. In an emergency you would be stressed, maybe hungry and lacking in energy, and maybe lacking in time to make a perfect shelter, especially if it's started to rain, or you're just feeling cold. Hence, as you say, KISS - keep it simple. If I'm actually going out into the ''wilderness' (I'm in the UK so it's more countryside than wilderness) I have my larger basha (shelter sheet) or tarp, plus a bivvy bag, sleeping bag, and ground mat, and other gear to make my life comfortable.
@BushcraftBuddyАй бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! I will definitely have a look at the dutch army poncho. Personally I would like to have a slightly larger poncho compared to the US Army version. Thank you again and cheers to beautiful UK! Martin 🤜🏻🤛🏻
@simonh6371Ай бұрын
@@BushcraftBuddy The Dutch poncho measures 2.05 x 1.5m. It may be larger than the US poncho, as the Dutch are the tallest people in the world. It's certainly very robust. Also I find the DPM camo works very well in NW Europe.
@BushcraftBuddyАй бұрын
Thank you, I have measured the US poncho and it seems they are comparable in size (215 x 160). Cheers 🤜🏻🤛🏻

An open fire inside your shelter? Are you nuts? Now there are a bunch of little holes in the fabric which you need to fix using the trusty seam sealer. Just look through the tarp on a sunny day. Do not damage a good tarp - fire away from your shelter.
@BushcraftBuddyАй бұрын
Thank you for your comment! Personally I made the experience that it strongly depends on the type of wood you are using. I try to only use hard wood and to avoid pine which cracks and creates sparks. By taking this into consideration, I did not have problems with holes. The enclosed teepee shelter contains the heat of the fire and ember and protects you from wind chill. Cheers!

Wow! thats some load. But a comfortable camp.That A.L.I.C.E.pack with frame can hold lots of kit. I use a lot of the G.I. pouches with wire hooks.Small fiskars axe etc etc. Great what you can pack. That ammo can stove worked really well. The camp bed similar to yours I've used in a G.I. pup tent. Did you get bothered with ticks.As they are pests hear in Scotland already. Great video thank you for all your effort.👍👍
