All students looked mature because the health standards back then were better and food quality was far superior. Soils and Farms 20 years ago were far more nutrient dense, thus the food had far more nutrients for proper growth. That's why they look like adults - because they're supposed to look like this. This is what healthy young people look like.

I’ve realized that there’s some differences, but it’s not too different overall from the 2000s high school as compared to today’s high school.

Class of 2014🤣. The bastard year (1996), neither millennials nor GenZ. There was definitely some of this atmosphere. We had phones, but Instagram wasn't a thing. We used them, but they still felt like toys.

Why does life look so good, I was born after the IPhone 4 was released and I see so much ppl saying they got their first phones in their twenties and I got my first phone at the age of 12, I’m still in middle school and it’s got hella toxic people always looking for fights, no one even listens to the teacher everyone is glued to their Chromebook screen playing Unblocked Games It’s not even school anymore they don’t listen to the Teachers and they interrupt them. Also I see a lot of ppl graduating in the early 2000s I graduate in ‘30 or 2030…

2001 - The year the first cell phone (for regular everyday use) came out. I was the 3rd student on campus to have one. I was 15. The infamous Nokia with snake. Of course they were treated like contraband because phones “were only for drug dealers”. I think the teachers were just jealous 😂

I graduated in 2002, but I remember what I was doing in June 2001. I was 17 and I was doing time in Durango juvenile jail. It was my 1st time being locked up and did 4 months. I was released just 1 week before 9-11

I went to my 10 yr high school reunion and almost everybody I knew from 10th grade looked the same and haven’t seemed to age. There’s Casey Jacobsen at 5:22. Never met the guy in person but tell him I said hi. He’s cool to listen to on tv as an analyst/commentator for college basketball.

8:15 Casey Jacobsen makes a cameo. I remember he was a beast at Stanford when I was a kid. I don’t remember him playing with josh Childress but they played at the same time. Childress was a top 5 nba pick in 2004. I don’t remember what Casey looked like at the time. I just remember him possibly with spiked hair. I was on Facebook watching what the students looked like in 99 and what they looked like in the reunion 20 yrs later and someone pointed out that Casey Jacobsen was one of the students. Based on his facial features I recognize him better because he currently covers college basketball as an analyst. I believe he is also a color commentator. I read he had a short nba career drafted 22nd in 2002 but played a majority of his professional basketball overseas. It’s good you showed what these students looked like in high school and what they look like 20 yrs from now. It shows what they are doing post high school and Casey is a perfect example. And I’m very familiar with Glendora I’ve never visited the city but my mother’s friend moved from Sacramento where I currently live to somewhere near that area. I tutored community college students at citrus but it was done in a remote setting located in my city. Work from home type job.

Some of the best high-school time capsule videos of the late 90s on YT. Perhaps a video about certain aspects that were more real and present at the time that we could use more of today. Personally I think the pre-smartphone world was more adventurous and spontaneous. Something about having less access to immediate digital gratification, communication tech, etc naturally stimulates the mind to further engage and make better use of the immediate present situation.
