This video doesn’t represent the majority. Trust me. I remember my elementary school days back in 2001. Kids and teachers didn’t get along. And this is supposed to be high school just 2 years prior to that. Yeah, it’s just because it’s the end of the year
@you_can_call_me_T11 ай бұрын
@@amuroray9115You were a baby lol. I was actually in high school about this time, and this is what school was like. Of course this was a little more lighthearted being the last day of school. But we actually did have good relationships with our teachers for the most part, especially by the time we were seniors. As long as we acted like young adults, they treated us like it. And our teachers still dressed and acted like professionals (as opposed to teachers wearing t-shirts and jeans to work these days) so the dynamic was just a bit different.

@terri63910 ай бұрын
They did enjoy it! But back then, kids were super respectful to teachers. They were told by their parents to respect authority figures. So they did their homework and they weren't assholes. Kids today are assholes. It's poor parenting by GenX. One of my best friends is a teacher and he said the majority of his students are assholes that just refuse to do homework and are disrespectful. So...yeah...how can teachers be expected to love their jobs?

I was 12 at the time, and you have to realize that it wasn't just that people weren't occupied with phones all the time, it's also that, get this, being on camera was a RARE occurrence. It was special. When someone came around with a camera you perked up a little, cracked a joke, or you'd try to hide, etc. Now everyone is filming everything 24/7, and the rare occurrence is when people don't.

I mean, we were still people in those times, so there was a variety of personalities. And this was the last day of school, so it's pretty laid back. And we had busy days sometimes, with packed schedules and such. But you're right-- we were present and didn't have the added stress and distraction of a cell phone constantly trying to pull us away from the real world. And while we have fewer photos from those times (no camera phones), we have richer and deeper memories, because instead of filming and posting things, we were feeling and fully experiencing them.

Wow watching this is almost healing. Im 45 (class of 97) and even though i didnt go to this school it just takes me back to that time. A time of freedom and fun. A time when mom took care of me still. A time when being funny with your buddies and talking with girls was everything. Then life hits and it hits hard, and youre scrambling to keep your head above water. 😄

I graduated High School in 2005. So I was in middle school in 1999 and even middle school was memorable. Everyone socialized outside between the main building and cafeteria building. High School was the same way. Everyone socializing outside. Yes, there was internet and cell phones when I was in high school but it was no where like it is now. Smartphones hadn't taken over yet and people weren't looking down at their phones unless they were about to call someone. I remember we had to use Ask Jeeves when searching for things. lol The 90s were great as a kid. Overall I think that everyone was much happier and more active back then.
