Oren Soffer should have been nominated for best cinematography for 'The Creator'. Wish him all the best. He is one of the new generation of brilliant and talented DOP.

Hi, do you have any idea, when for example in "The lincoln lawyer" movie they film a person with a lot of sharpness on face and shoulders (as it would be f15) but at the same time they get a lot lot of blur in the background (as it would @ f2.8) ? Personally I don't think they fix it in post. Thanks!

Oren Soffer used Sony FX3 to shoot The Creator. Probably he will be using Venice 2 for his next project.

So true, it's all about what you make it. "Pro" cameras certainly have their place. But if you're a documentary filmmaker (or even just indie) smaller cameras also draw less attention and keep people at ease. Even though the FX6 is fairly small for what it is too!
