@WarriorsInAGarden38 күн бұрын
In a nut shell, the Radical’s are a mess. So far, this one line of Del-ton is the only budget AR I would recommend, and I still would highly suggest upgrading if at all possible to an Aero Precision or better.

I got the Del-Ton upper online from Midsouth and put on an Aero Precision lower. The 1:7 twist barrel does not like 55 grain FMJ in 223 Remington loads, I think the twist rate is too fast. It really likes 62 grain FMJ 5.56 loads. 1 MOA at 200 yards!
@seanmtactical606912 күн бұрын
The twist rate really cannot be too fast short of it causing the bullet to come apart in the air. This is very hard to do and typically only seen in very thin jacketed bullets out of very fast calibers. Most general 55gr AR ammo is 3-4 MOA ammo. I run into this regularly as you see in these reviews. The cheaper barrels don’t help either.

My 270 win has a 1-8.5" twist and I run the 165gr Accubonds, at just over 2800fps. Works great. I hunt in southern Oregon
@seanmtactical606913 күн бұрын
@@dstarr5050 and that’s what they all should be, fast enough twists to run the heavier bullets. Sadly they aren’t though. Well over 90% of the 270 Win rifles are 1:10. Hell, I just recently found out that Browning is making a select few models in 1:8. The first step is getting manufacturers to understand and that takes getting the info out. 270 Win with 165s at 2800 fps is what we should be demanding from this caliber by manufacturers.

I purchased a Del-Ton Echo a few years ago and it had some initial issues. The barrel nut was not timed properly, and the gas tube had been shoehorned in, bending it. Its also over gassed a little. The barrel chamber passed a 5.56mm go/no-go check. The buffer tube had threading mandrel marks that was cosmetically unappealing. To get it to run, I had to re-clock the barrel nut and replace the bent gas tube. I also replaced the buffer tube and installed some Magpul MOE furniture, and I dropped in an ALG-QMS trigger. I added an additional tungsten weight to the buffer (making it an H2 buffer) to address the over-gassing issue. With those repairs the rifle runs and looks respectable (all in cost is about $650). Its still a little gassy and punchy but has been 100% reliable with 800 rounds fired, so far. Not bad for a budget-entry-level AR. YMMV

I don't believe this issue is legitimately represented by calling them dumb or deceptive over it. If the couple degrees of grip angle significantly impact your shooting, something else is going on.

Between clipping on the microphone and the audio on my tablet, its hard for me to tell much at all. My theory on the bolt being louder is: while you are right that excess gas is vented out the BCG vents, the .300 BLK is not giving you much excess gas and the diverted gas is doing work so some volume of gas is bypassed from the can and released over a slightly longer period. Reducing peak decibels. Hey, its worth what you paid for it. 😅
@seanmtactical6069Ай бұрын
Yep. I suspect the gas system volume is the difference. It's impossible to get good enough audio to tell sound difference in the video.

I purchased the Rugged Alaskan 360. I like it so far but now I’m thinking I need one for my 300blk out.
@seanmtactical6069Ай бұрын
The 360 will work, but it's just going to let a little more gas out. In 300 Blk, it's not that bad as their subsonic loads are very low powder charges. The Law of Conservation of Mass relates the gas has to equal the powder charge. It just matters how many Mols of gas (volume) will equal the Mols of solid powder (mass). They are not an exact correlation as some powders make more volume for equal Mols. Nevertheless, a good rule of thumb is less powder is going to be less volume in the can. BUT! A reason can always be found for another can. Oh, I know this too well.

These were al clean and lubed muzzle devices abs new unfired can. I called B&T and the CS is abysmal and terrible. They gave me an RMA but I paid the 45$ to ship it. They had it a month and never gave me feedback or replied to my weekly emails. Finally got it last Friday. Still kinda tight going on and off. Needless to say regardless the performance which I know is good, I won't be purchasing anything B&T related again.
