So @ 5:00 you boldly stated that the Mora Hydro will reduce the reliance of imported oil. In the meantime, Guyana is already producing more than 1/2 million barrels of oil. Stop building useless roads to those insignificant villages in the interior and instead, focus on developing oil processing facilities that will generate 100% more revenues than Lethem and Bartica combined.

Guyana’s GDP is high but not because of what’s being earned by its citizens. It’s not because of the export of sugar, bauxite, rice or human capital. It’s because of the earnings of Exxon through oil exports. Guyanese are still dirt poor and desperate. Guyana is still a fourth world country.

All this money being spent on infrastructure projects. But most people are poor. Yet a man could die today from an abscess. Yet a family member could be released from the hospital still comatose because healthcare is non existent in Linden. Yet crime is at its highest because of poverty. Murders and other crimes still go unchecked. Yet teachers aren’t paid a living wage. Yet the capital city looks like a garbage dump. Where is the humanity projects. How could you invest billions on. Infrastructure and ignore the human capital that is in desperate need.

Have you every been to guyana? The port being built in has nothing to do with coastal protection. The entire coastline of guyana is below sea level. The reason the port is being built is because the sugar industry is collapsing and the current government need to keep their supporters in berbice happy. It does not matter where they build the port. It will still function the same way. The same thing applies to the gas to shore project. It is being built where the whales sugar estate is. There are no coincidences. The question you should ask is "were the citizens consulted in these decisions?". Please go to guyana and do proper research before you give misinformation. All the political parties are corrupt and they are stealing the oil resources. The people are suffering even though they deserve it because they voted for these crooks. I am a guyanese citizen and I do not vote. I do not give my whole consent for someone to make decisions for me. That is my right under a republic. They are supposed to come to me for my permission. Guyana is under siege by corrupt government and corporations. You should talk about that. None of he so called progress will matter if the people are being sidelined in the development of the nation. Appearance does not reflect reality.

Great video. Where exactly on the NJ side does the new tunnel begin? What will the tunnel be going under, North Bergen, Union City, the northern tip of Jersey City, some of Hoboken? How are the existing tracks approaching the new Portal Bridge eastbound going to merge onto the tracks on and approaching the new Portal Bridge going eastbound? It seems to me that new tracks will have to be built getting both on and off the existing tracks from Swift Interlock all the way to just before Secaucus Junction. Exactly where in the meadows will the new tracks heading to the new tunnel diverge from the old Corridor tracks heading into the North River Tunnels? How will all the tracks from both tunnels link up at NY Penn? Thank you, sir.

Good attempt. Fact checking needs to be better. Yellow Line no longer enters Maryland. Also, WMATA/DC Metro connects with VRE (Virginia Railway Express). Lack of inclusion of that fact (about VRE) makes this video incredibly Maryland centric (which I guess it must be due to Purple Line - but at least get facts straight). Find ways to distinguish your channel from the B1M which also covers transformational projects / megaprojects.

The cost of this will never pay for itself. The ridership estimates are wildly over estimated. There always has to be a building project going on in the DC Metro area . This is not one of the better ones.
@Cerucir

Transit in general doesn't pay for itself, but that's also not its purpose. Highways don't pay for themselves either. I'm not sure about the ridership estimates, so I won't comment on that. But I disagree with your last statement. I think the Purple line is a good idea. An issue with Metro is that it only routes into DC. Going from Shady Grove to Wheaton for example, requires going all the way into DC, and back out. East/West connection with the Purple line helps with that. I look forward to its completion.

@@rehabmaxPeople who don't want to drive, or don't want to be in traffic, people who can't drive (teens, elderly, disabled), can't afford a car (cars are expensive to own and maintain, even used cars these days) would use it. I would use it, even though I have a car. I use the metro as well for going into DC because I don't like driving in DC or paying for parking. It's nice to just sit, look out the window, read, do Duolingo lessons etc. on the train. Can't do that while I'm driving. I can definitely still drive into DC (I never do), but it's nice to have other options. With more people using something like the Purple Line, that's less traffic/fewer cars on roads, like 495, which is always terrible. People who wanna drive can still drive. Can't comment on light rail in Baltimore, haven't had that experience.

Guyana is following the playbook for countries that have oil discoveries. Look at Trinidad and Ghana. All your oil income will be used to take out loans and when oil prices decrease, the country will have to privatize to get a bail out from the IMF. The multi corporations make money both ways, building and buying those assets from guyana. Economic hitman 101.the world bank told guyana they do not need a refinery. Does guyana need hydro electricity with a population of less than 800,000 people. Trinidad with a population of over 1million people, power using only natural gas.
