Can you double check USB? It should be connected to VBUS not 3.3V but confirm. Otherwise excellent tutorial bro.

Wow, this was excellent. To the point, no useless banter. I never say this but it deserves more views. I got way more out of this than any other HDMI replacement video I've watched to date. Thanks bud.

When you said low melt solder I hope you meant leaded solder. I would never solder a component with low melt, I would only use low melt to help remove a component.

NEVER use low melt solder to put your HDMI port back, it will not have the same strength. We fix few of them a day. Use standard solder, maybe its a bit harder to do, but you can do it.

my brother...how in this WORLD did you tin those traces like that without bridging anything? I'm working on an HDMI port right now for the first time and I'm bridging EVERYTHING. You brushed those poor bastards MULTIPLE TIMES and not only did they not bridge, but they are perfectly soldered. Your response is greatly appreciated...

Submerge the entire work area in flux, just as he did, and know you don’t need a ton of solder. If you use plenty of flux, and don’t use too much solder, the pads and pins should bond smoothly without bridging.

Your soldering skills are s#it! Stop pulling on components with your tweezers before the solder is melted! You are going to rip pads! And use proper flux and low melting solder! Also the short finding injection is very sketchy!

DO NOT TIN the the connectors on the motherboard. Tin the HDMI connector INSTEAD! It is better to mess up the connector than the motherboard. All the connectors on the motherboard will be soldered together if you try to tin from the motherboard!

Where are you located and do you have a contact email you could share? I've built PCs and have taken apart monitors to replace bad caps etc....I'm sure I could take this on as well, but like if you've done it, I kind of want to send mine over to you to have you do it. Also if I was to do this what solder hotair station do you recommend? If I do this HDMI port I may go ahead and change the bad stick on a ps5 controller while I am at it.
