I pictured sketchy animation used of her flying around in a biplane and her doing barrel rolls dodging missiles being fired at her and at some point her in the biplane flying across the lyrics under live action footage and her playing the piano making the faces would expect (you see it a bit in the video) but you'd feel the passion just the same

When he touches her at the end, it's of his own volition, and she recoils in disgust. He was a real boy all along, attempting to perform this role for her, and she only wanted the role, not him.

Nothing is crueler than children who come from good homes Gotta forgive them, I guess, but whose side are you on? Driving around my hometown, I remember it all Dropping my lunch box and Tampax all over the hall And they said You are a socialist coke head, we know from your clothes You are a Satanist worshiper, oh, that's evil You think you're poet, a folksinger, your a poser A volleyball player? you've got to be kidding us all So we hide from the cunts On a night reconnaissance Steal flamingos and gnomes From the dark side of the lawn No one can stop us The script is a work of genius No one has bought the rights yet but We're not giving up Every unwanted lawn jockey fits in the script Directed by Spielberg and starring the masochist club Marion looked like hell Stuck in that ridicules shell Give us some light and god's pure love We know what you've been dreaming of Give us some light and god's pure love We know what you've been dreaming of Give us some light and god's pure love We know what you've been dreaming of We're taking you to Hollywood Hollywood So we hide from the cunts On a night reconnaissance Steal flamingos and gnomes From the dark side of the lawn One is a socialist cock-head they dressed in my clothes One is a Satanist worshiping who's evil One is a poet who starts up a band of his own One is a volleyball player with both of her wrists broke So we hide from the cunts On a night reconnaissance Steal flamingos and gnomes From the dark side of the lawn And we give them good homes Give them love they've never known In the loft, in the lawn, In the town where I was born In the loft, in the bar, In the town where I was born

You can tell From the scars on my arms And the cracks in my hips And the dents in my car And the blisters on my lips That I'm not the carefullest of girls You can tell From the glass on the floor And the strings that're breaking And I keep on breaking more And it looks like I am shaking But it's just the temperature And then again If it were any colder I could disengage If I were any older I could act my age But I don't think that you'd believe me It's not the way I'm meant to be It's just the way The operation made me And you can tell From the state of my room That they let me out too soon And the pills that I ate Came a couple years too late And I've got some issues to work through There I go again Pretending to be you Make believing That I have a soul beneath the surface Trying to convince you It was accidentally on purpose I am not so serious This passion is a plagiarism I might join your century But only on a rare occasion I was taken out Before the labor pains set in and now Behold the world's worst accident I am the girl anachronism And you can tell By the red in my eyes And the bruises on my thighs And the knots in my hair And the bathtub full of flies That I'm not right now at all There I go again Pretending that I'll fall Don't call the doctors 'Cause they've seen it all before They'll say just Let her crash And burn She'll learn The attention just encourages her And you can tell From the full-body cast That you're sorry that you asked Though you did everything you could Like any decent person would But I might be catching so don't touch You'll start believing You're immune to gravity and stuff Don't get me wet Because the bandages will all come off And you can tell From the smoke at the stake That the current state is critical Well it is the little things, for instance In the time it takes to break it She can make up ten excuses Please excuse her for the day It's just the way the medication makes her I don't necessarily believe there is a cure for this So I might join your century but only as a doubtful guest I was too precarious removed as a caesarian Behold the worlds worst accident I am the girl anachronism I am the girl anachronism I am the girl anachronism I am the girl anachronism I am the girl I am the girl I am the girl I am the girl anachronism

This is the Amanda Palmer I miss. She came back on Piano is Evil but I'd love a revisit of her Dolls era writing. not necessarily the mania expressed here, but the songwriting.. she was on another level.

Fun fact, there exists a secret society that kidnaps lawn gnomes in the midle of the night and then restores and refurbishes them before returning them some time later often all under the cover of night, though they have exposed their existance a couple times

Funny how if she was anachronism she be in time with less right for her own body, and now she super outspoken on issue that wouldn’t even be a talking point in any if not most prior century’s. Funny how objectively thinking goes out the window so quickly. 🤷‍♂️😂

the songs dresdendolls made about mental health are so weirdly different to their other songs in a good way, like making them seem crazy as people who do have mental health issues think that they're crazy because they aren't like everyone else, i think the songs display that so perfectly
