What a absolutely wonderful couple I'm going through a hard time at the moment going through a divorce I was living on the streets untill council put me in a B N B but 3 months ago I finally got my flat from them. I used to go fishing when I was settled but at the moment everything isn't going well I tried to overdose my self a few weeks ago as was struggling and didn't see a way out and since I've been in my flat I don't see anyone 99% I'm on my own constantly no visitors and that got me down aswell. But I've started watching fishing on KZbin as I think it could help me but I'm really interested in predator fishing so just looking to sort that out at the moment and will hopefully help my mind setting. But as I said thankyou and you 2 are amazing

Getting outdoors fishing of any type would do you good mate 🙂 i also found that getting out and going for a long walk in the country helped too if you need help mate reach out 👍 the future might just be amazing just keep going your doing good 🤝😊

Thanks Andrew. Making sure you're safe when you're fishing is paramount, not just for you but also for fish care too. Using a bankstick really helps and we also use crampons on our boots - they really help you get some grip on muddy banks 🎣👍

@ I’ve got some of those that claim to be used on ice/ snow from my running days, they just slip over your trainers or boots, I’m going to stick the in the bag. The banks can be treacherous! What a cracking video! Not just for the fishing but more so for the way the both of you really do want to help others, you actually brought a couple of tears to my eyes - So much so that I have subscribed to your channel straight away. Mental health is a major problem and it's getting worse! I suffered many years ago, so much so that I tried (And very nearly succeeded) to take my own life, and my biggest problem was too "macho" (Stubborn) to try to find help! I'm fine now and have a wonderful wife, two sons and three beautiful grand children but things could so easily have been different and if it weren't for someone finding me barely alive and calling for an ambulance I most likely would not be here today to write this! I can only echo what the two of you have said on the video, please do not suffer in silence, if you are feeling down or depressed (For whatever reason) please, please, please seek help or at least try to talk to someone! By the way that really was a cracking pike, one that I would have been delighted to have caught! I look forward to any more videos you post!!!!!!

Your story is a prime example that things can change you just cant see it at the time through the dark fog both me and catherine said after we filmed the video that what we spoke about was far more important than the fish we caught that day and also if it helped just one person to reach out for help then it was worth it..!! @luredbyesox That’s so kind and thank you and good luck in your full time anglers position 😊 👌🏽 Do you have a platform to message on or am I ok to do it here? One question I have just now is drop off indicators. I’ve seen some conflicting content recently, some saying they would only use that at range and with braid, some not using them at all and others using a small home made hanger! I have fox mini microns and drop offs, 50lb braid and will be fishing ledgered deadbaits at no more range than what you were on the canal, not to start with anyway. Grateful for any pointers on this subject Andy

I don't agree with you on the one fish or the it's not about the twenties. I much more agree with a story I was told about a certain nevil. A bloke who I was fishing alongside said he showed this nevil a 27lb pike from the trent and he tried to find out the spot from the photo. He's already had more twenties than most yet still hunting for more I like that. Good luck with going full time fishing (you told me that at the pac) I fish during the week and there's plenty on the bank nowadays unfortunately. It would be nice to be able to pick and choose day fishing it's frustrating to see a venue In perfect condition and you have to go to work 😢.

Hi Robert, I guess everyone has aims within fishing and whilst it's always great to catch something large, we certainly enjoy trying new areas and seeing what's there. @luredbyesox on a new area I'm happy with anything on my first trip. Some venues that are hard I'll accept anything. But others especially ones I know will produces bigger pike I will definitely set targets. Sometimes I fail miserably on and others have surpassed my expectations by a mile. My target is as many twenty from as many venues as possible. I do like the idea of an english, Scottish, Welsh and Irish twenty ( or more realistic just a pike from them all.

That,s the sort of thing we we,re touching on not everyone catches 20,s most new anglers would be over the moon with a 10lber 👌😊 i think they see all these big pike on social,s and feel like a 10lber is only a tiddler but its not to me when a subscriber tell,s me they,ve had a 10lb pb im super happy for em 🤘😎 a pike is a pike to me n i love every single one of em 😁 guess everyone has different goal,s in fishing n thats fine dont get me wrong i,d be super happy with a thirty but a ten pounder on a lure still gets my heart racing and a smile on my face its not a blank 👌😊

@luredbyesox 11 years for a twenty locally I thought I was be reasonably easy having a 19lb pike in my 2nd year of pikeing. My biggest pike in a year averages at 18lb nowadays. If I'm lucky I might see a twenty every other year.

Happy new year to you and congratulations on the semi retirement. One thing seriously missing from the deadbating videos is the mandatory brew making section. All deadbait anglers must have brew making content. The alarm always goes off just as the kettle boils. 😂😂👍👍

Fabulous You Tube. Lovely to meet Matt. Congratulations on your semi retirement to the "good life!!!" Lovely to see Catherine. I L❤VE BREAM!! I call them the "ladies fish" as they don't put up much of a fight. Plus it was the first "big" UK fish I caught after living in the USA as a concert pianist for 26 years. Any fish caught is a positive with me. Best wishes Pauline (PJ). Xxxx

Happy New Year to you both and I think the emphasis is the Happy bit with the great news and well done to you both well deserved- it is a leap of faith and can only be done with the support of each other. I did smile at your comment Sean that there will be no one there during the week - as a recent retiree I thought the same how wrong was I- yes full of old fogies like myself.!! Keep up the great content ps lovely fish too
