Cracking session guys, well done, brilliant advert for Barbel fishing and the Ouse, was told the other day that the Ouse was unfashionable compared to the Wharfe and Trent , could not believe what I was hearing! Look forward to your next video, tight lines.

Absolutely amazing channel 👏. Ive been fishing for over 40 years but only this summer ive taken up barbel fishing on my local river. Ive Absolutely loved learning and fishing for barbel and at the moment ive caught 2 and lost 2. @luredbyesox thank you for the lovely reply. I have only ever caught 3 barbel 1 in a pond a Fiar few years ago. This summer I was 7 blank sessions in before I landed my first river barbel which was about 1lb ( that featured on one of my vidoes) and the 2nd was 2 weeks ago this was 13.2lb I have never known a fight off a fish like it. I had to sit down for 20 mins after realising the barbel as I was completely spent and emotions running high lol. Since then I've had 2 on but unfortunately lost them both after they snagged me up and hook pulling out. Anyway sorry for long post I get carried away talking fishing 😆.

@luredbyesox thank you, buddy. I guess I was extremely lucky that day, and the angling gods were with me. I am extremely lucky as my local river is 300 yards from my house but it's only this summer that I learnt the barbel are in there. It's very hush hush so I don't film as it upsets the regulars which is fair enough

@@HoldernessCodFather your extremely luck to have a good river so close to home we have to travel 1 1/2hrs to get to a good barbel river but its worth it we had to walk for about a mile to get to the spot but a brilliant day 👌😁

@@luredbyesox I've ever actually fished the Yorkshire ouse quite new to barbel fishing actually. I fish the wharfe and Swale. I know it's all hush hush in fishing spots etc. But any chance of u telling me what area of the ouse this is. Not asking for exact spots Cos some anglers can be funny with giving spots away. Wouldn't know were to start on the ouse. As say never fished it.

Hi to both of you -great session. I am off to Shrewsbury soon and looking to fish the Severn- never caught a barbel so have not got specific gear- do you think I could get away with my 10' 1,75t/c carp rod? Terminal end no issues I use running ledger etc in my carping. Would you start with meat or say a12mm boilie? Thanks for your channel well done.

@@keithmercer-t1k hi keith 🤝🙂 your rod will be fine barbel rods are normally 1.5lb tc to anything upto 3lb tc have you got a baitrunner? If not make sure you loosen the drag so when you get the 3ft twitch the barbel can take line catherines always done well on meat especially if the rivers got some colour to it take some pellets for feed and on the hook too with a band as we did 👍😊 good luck keith let us know how you get on 👍
