Great video, thank you so much for sharing. I admire Jim Corbett and wouldn't mind owning the same type of rifle he used. I'm not sure which one he used more; I do think his .450/.400 was his go-to when he went into the jungle by himself. But seriously though, who only takes 3 cartridges with when going after a man-eating tiger?! He also had a shotgun with him, but I'd need to re-read all the books in hopes to find out what gun it was.

I think the buffer spring is the way to go. All you have to do is get a silicone flat wire spring and the twang is eliminated at a much lower cost. I got a flat wire spring by David Tubbs and my recoil spring issues were eliminated.

Extraordinary gun! With that sort of locking, new cartridges with much higher pressures could be used, which is a bit of an unexpected twist in the world of gunmaking. Considering break actions always have been considered less strong than bolt actions!

Could you please share your thoughs about hammered vs hidded hammered snotguns for game hunting. I am thinking about buying a hammered version since it seems, they are safer to carry loaded in the bush. One can carry them hammer not cocked. On the other hand, with hidden hammers, there is no such possibility.
@thegeorgiasportsman95703 ай бұрын
Hammer shotguns are very cool! You could probably make the argument that hammer guns are safer for carry, but if you are following basic guns safety rules (keeping gun pointed in safe direction, on safe, finger off the trigger) nothing should go wrong. Few guns are made with hammers these days and remember, they are slower because you have to physically cock each barrel before firing.

Cool video and very helpful. On a Baikal single trigger O/U shotgun you can use the trigger itself to select the barrel. Standard firing sequence is lower barrel first and then upper. BUT, if you push the trigger forward until it clicks, then the barrel firing sequence changes to upper first then lower barrel. Very easy to do in the field or on a skeet shoot. But I agree, that double trigger is simpler and faster.

Hi, I have just seen your presentation on the guns of Jim Corbett and commend you for. At one time I had three Rigby magazine rifles: a .275 built for Lord Dormer in 1929; a .350 Magnum built for Manton And Co; and a .416 built in I think 1926, for Prince M H Khan of Bophal. I still have the .275. They are fantastic rifles and the .416 is exactly as described by Taylor. Your presentation was excellent. The .275 remains a grossly underrated cartridge but in fact has plenty of punch while remaining pleasant to shoot.

Hi, You unscrew the single screw on the clamp and then wrap the bubble level around the scope tube. You just have to be careful not to let it slip or it can scratch your scope tube.

Did Barretta use SKB to manufacture their firearms? Because that is definitely made by SKB. It looks just like my Weatherby Athena (SKB 885).
@thegeorgiasportsman95707 ай бұрын
Not all, but nearly all Berettas are manufactured by Beretta (the SO9 was outsourced for some reason). This shotgun is the SO5, Berettas flagship premium grade gun. It was built in Beretta’s (Duo) factory in Italy. I’m sure they probably do share very similar features. I have never used an SKB, but I’ve heard they are solidly good performing guns.

It does take a little bit more work but is still easy. The main thing is making sure you have the pink pressed down as far as you can get it to go, then pry the silent capture spring up over the pin.

can a single trigger fire side-by-side barrels at the same time like in the video game doom 3?

Perhaps if the gun was modified it may be possible. A normal and properly functioning firearm with a single trigger fires only one barrel at a time.

I still haven’t been able to get my hands on a Hoenig rifle yet. I think having either one would make the owner proud. The question comes down to cost, and to that end I think the scale is in Bradshaw’s favor. He will build it anyway the customer desires. Even without handling a Hoenig, I can’t imagine the Hoenig rifle being a step above what Bradshaw produces.

Hi Guys. Question please. When I pull the front trigger on my CZ Bobwhite G2, the trigger guard slams into my middle finger and it’s very uncomfortable. What am I doing wrong and how can I correct this? Thanks. Love the gun.
@thegeorgiasportsman9570 Жыл бұрын
Most likely this is due to the firearm length of pull being too short for you. The cheapest way to remedy this is to add an extended butt pad or a trigger guard rubber “bumper.” The other option is much more expensive and that is to get it restocked to your dimensions.

I guess the old saying of "If you have to ask how much it costs,,, you cannot afford it" would be the case with that fine looking rifle. Nice review. Have you test fired it yet? I was not aware of such a mechanism, and I have several copies of G.D., S.B. and many different firearms and hunting magazines going back to the 1930's. Probably make a good article to double check for / read one of these upcoming wintry days.
