I love this song. The raw voice of Tineke Schoenmaker nails the song. The piano part bij Han van DAM is lovely and the guitar play of the brothers Laporte is spot on!

Yeah baby! That's some great Blues. Albert Collins was fabulous in concert and he was always a very nice person, as others have said. Barrelhouse was a rocking bluesy band for the late 70's. I'll have to admit, I had never heard of them until this video with Albert. They reminded me of the old Austin Blues scene from the late seventies into the nineties. Albert frequented Antone's Night Club in Austin during that time. He would crank up his Fender Quad Reverb and plug in his 300 foot guitar cable and walk around the hall and then out the front door. He was torching Austin back then. One night Stevie Ray snuck in a side door and got up on stage with him. They proceeded to apply the atomic sledgehammers of guitar magic that night until well after closing time. Those were indeed the days.

Saw him do the same thing in a club on Washinton Avenue in Houston. He always had the crowd in the palm of his hand, as all great showman do.

She's up early in the morning, dialing your phone About what your man did last night Now she wouldn't be worried about what your man did If she had her own thing up tight Now its all in her plans, to get you fighting your man Hoping that you put him down But when he crawls out the door, Lord knows She'll have him before his feet hit the ground You better beware of the dog that bring a bone She's only trying to break up you home You better beware of the dog that bring a bone She's only trying to break up you home She's the leader of the grapevine, always on time To spread some gossip around But she's trying to use the one she's talking to To put the next one down She'll tell you to watch me, and me to watch you And that were trying to steal each other's man But you can be damn sure she'll try to steal them too If ever she gets the chance

Albert Collins was a gentleman and a professional. He was warm and kind. His showmanship and the way he directly communicated with his audience was inspirational. Leo Fender must have been impressed with his use of the telecaster. He had a great sense of humor. We need more of his kind. He is missed. I'm an atheist, but God Bless Albert Collins.
