15 Johnny B Goode, Jamsessie met Erwin Java, John LaPorte en Guus Laporte

Drie roemruchte bluesgitaristen van eigen bodem stonden voor het eerst met elkaar op het podium bij café LaPorte in Meppel: Guus en Johnny Laporte en Erwin Java.
Rond vijf uur begon deze unieke blues-sessie in een afgeladen, heet een en met beslagen ramen Café LaPorte in Meppel.
De gebroerders Laporte toeren al meer dan 40 jaar met “Barrelhouse” door het land met de alom geprezen Tineke Schoemaker als leading lady, terwijl Erwin Java 25 jaar lang de rechterhand van Harry Muskee was in diens “Cuby & The Blizzards” en sinds vier jaar furore maakt met “King of the World”.
De drie kwamen elkaar begin 2016 tegen in het C + B Museum (Cuby Museum) in Grolloo waar het idee werd geopperd om eens samen wat te doen in de vorm van een jamsessie.
Dat was in de afgelopen veertig jaar nog nooit gebeurd. Dat kwam uitbater Klaas de Boer van Café La Porte in Meppel toevallig ter ore en hij ondernam gelijk actie.
Guus, Johnny en Erwin werden gedurende drie sets bijgestaan door Peter Bloem (zang), Johan Weghorst (bas), Djai Mac Wolthof (drums) en Corine Mout (zang).

Three illustrious bluesgitarists from Hollands’ soil first met on stage in 40 years at café LaPorte in Meppel, Holland.
The event took place on an Sunday afternoon the hot, growdy en and steamy windowed cafe.
The two brothers John and John Laporte are touring for more than 40 years with the rewarded bluesband “Barrelhouse” with widely acclaimed singer Tineke Schoemaker, while Erwin Java joined Harry Muskee with his “Cuby & the Blizzards” gang for more than 25 years, playing leadguitars. Last 4 years Erwin Java is succesfully touring with his band “Kind of the World”.
Erwin, John and Guus met each other, early 2016, at the Cuby-museum in Grolloo, Holland during a tribute to Harry Muskee and brainstormed about going on stage together for some jamming.
Although the all playing the blues, this never happend in the last 40 years.
Pub-keeper Klaas de Boer heard about the idea and took action. We’ll happy he did.
During the session the three guitar giants werd accompanied by Peter Bloem (vocals), Johan Weghorst (bass), Djai Mac Wolthof (drums) and Corine Mout (ladysinger).
