I know Eltnum technically has guns but Kaguya is probably the first exclusive UNI character with them since Sion’s from MB. Either way, Kaguya is incredibly fun and probably my favorite UNI character so far next to Byakuya!

is kara canceling in this game kinda like special canceling but with supers? Cause in DBFZ the only time I heard the word kara-cancel was when someone faked a moved into a dragon rush but canceling normals or specials into supers was pretty standard. I'm trying to figure out if that's what is happening or if it's something different.

Hi @natman2939! Sorry I couldn’t answer your comment sooner, I was off of KZbin for a while due to college but here’s what I know so far in terms of kara canceling (take it with a large grain of salt). For its general definition, Kara canceling involves canceling the startup of a move to do a different move. And as you said, this doesn’t have to be exclusive to supers or throws (dragon rush) since you can do K-cancels with something like Sol 6s into gun flame to get a boosted gun flame that goes farther. For strive specifically, it seems like only certain characters have access to Kara supers such as Sin or Chipp rekka super but several characters do have access to Kara cancels just not in the form of supers all the time. As for what you said about canceling normals or specials into supers in dbfz, I’m not too sure if those count as k-cancels because there’s a built in mechanic in dbfz and many games that purposefully allows you to cancel specials into supers. The main application of Kara cancels that I personally know is to either give certain specials more range or to do a super from a special in which it wouldn’t have been possible normally in the game. Once again please take this with a grain of salt since I’m not an expert but I hope I was able to help in some way! The fighting game glossary is an excellent resource to give you some more detailed explanations than this btw. Thanks!

Thanks for asking! There are still manual/technical inputs in this game and they existed in the original GBVS but it was changed so that technical inputs no longer give you a damage advantage for using them which as a result, made technical inputs essentially useless when you can just use the simple inputs with no strength difference. Personally, not a fan with this change since I felt the previous game had a decent system with their inputs.

@@thebananatuna5126 Same I had no issues except for the SBA and SSBA scaling. If every character had the simple input damage penatly then I'd have no problems with it, but that wasn't the case. Characters like Charlotta and Narmaya have no penalty for easy input SSBA, while characters like abel and yuel did basically no damage with easy input.

So from what I noticed if you use the dash macro and press any attack button you won’t get the dash attack and only get the normal. It seems you have to manually input the dash to get the dash attack. Thanks for asking!

I didn't know my video got cited in your Tierlist... that being said, depending on which version of GGX, GGX+, GGXX, GGXX# R, GGXXSlash, GGXXAC, GGXXAC+R you'll get different clash intros, literally depending on what version of the game you look at. Vanilla XX had some of the best clash intros, while later games tweaked and recycled some of them. A huge flaw I realized with my video is how we missed SO MANY different intros between 2 characters especially with characters like Sol and Ky in various entries of their series. Of course it’ll be difficult to rate every single intro/clash but it’s great knowing the resources are there to check them out especially from the ones you posted! Also, dude I should’ve sent a message to use your footage and looking at it now I don’t think it was a good idea to do so without your permission. Don’t worry, I won’t be making this mistake again.

What I'd say about BBTAG is when there is a special interactions between two characters on the same team, it is S tier. When it is a non special interactive team, D tier because the 2nd character says nothing.

I’m 30 minz into this & wow! Your way of explaining mechanics is a gift. I have not understood what teching is until now! Your explanations paired with visual examples are just what I needed. Amazing video bro! One thing I want to know a bit more about is charged moves. I see that when charged their properties change like becoming overheads etc. But are grounded and air charged moves guard points?

@Joseph Orelien I really appreciate it bro! I didn’t expect this video to get this amount of engagement especially with how small my channel is so I really appreciate the comments! As for your question, this topic is definitely something I could totally go into better detail in a future video but here’s what I know so far about charges moves from playing the game. For many characters, their charges moves can either be an unblockable like Shiki’s charged 5C an overhead for some characters or just a regular charged move that hits mid but possesses ground bounce properties and clash frames. In terms of guard points, charges moves both grounded and air moves technically don’t have a set number of hits they can absorb like Potemkin’s hammer fall in Strive meaning that can absorb several hits due to their increase in clash frames allowing them to blow through an enemy’s attacks if they’re not expecting it. I hope that answers some part of your question and I’ll definitely look into it more if needed!

@FoldableBed I kinda suck at explaining things so I’m gonna try my best! Basically I’m cancelling the gazelle step dash follow-up after elk hunt by doing the super input and clicking the dash macro at the same time. It’s a somewhat tight input but when you land it it feels so satisfying!

Probably way too late so you won't ever see this but in very short explanation, imagine you're doing the overdrive input right as your special move ends. Now imagine you're also doing a gazelle step forward too which is dash (preferably dash macro). YOu're basically doing both overdrive and dash extremely extremely close to eachother, which makes sin use his overdrive the second gazelle step starts
