The guesthouse is owned by Government of India under foundation act :) and is hardly managed by auroville! It’s a guesthouse made for government officials visits and has nothing to do with Av

I do have doubts about Auroville's relationship to money. Unless they are fully autarcic, wich does not seem to be the case, their interactions with the outer world requires real money. I don't think that;, e.g. their suppliers; accept to be paid in "Aurovillian tickets". Where does this money come from, and who controls these movements of funds? The very little money that the residents makes goes almost entirely into the city's treasure chest. Unless they've kept money in accounts outside the town, the very little money they keep actually ostracizes them from the outer world, they can materially hardly leave Auroville. All the properties, houses... in Auroville belong to the community. Who actually controls the capital that all that real estate represents?
