The best place to stay will be Center guest house 900rs for single occupancy 2 times food. Cycle and laundry. 🙏🏻 serendipity also very nice.

If you are single person than best option is central guest house with 900rs with cycle, breakfast and lunch included. Also laundry.

If you want to residence of auroville than you will get a auro card. A tourist is not the resident of auroville. The main part of auroville where the people are live, camera is not allowed.

Auroville is well connected by road ways. You can come to chennai by flight and than take taxi from there. Generally to book a place you need to send a email Auroville guest houses. Which you can find on Auroville guest house 😊🙏🏻

There are various places you can volunteering but every place have there ways. But two places I can tell you one is sadhana forest where they provide awesome free food and 600rs for one day. Really awesome community you enjoy every day. Other place is solitude farm there also you pay 500rs per day food is provided. Again really awesome place. There are 100 more places you can volunteer. I have also made a detailed video on sadhana forest. You can watch that. Or do booking sadhana forest website 😊

Hey there are many ways one is you can be a volunteer, which will cost you minimum. Otherwise there are many many guest houses where you can stay. Other than that you can also become aurovillian, there is process for which you to do volunteering for sometime. More detail you can get on Auroville website 🙏🏻😊

First visit the place and see if you still want to stay. Than after three years of volunteering with foundation you apply for aurovillian citizen but it’s not 100% correct. Or you can take some land from Auroville and make a home or guesthouse something like that.

@ForestFlower please note that the name is Maatrimandir (मातृ मन्दिर) and NOT Maitri Mandir (मैत्री मन्दिर). There is a huge difference in the meaning there - in the way you are pronouncing it. I do have doubts about Auroville's relationship to money. Unless they are fully autarcic, wich does not seem to be the case, their interactions with the outer world requires real money. I don't think that;, e.g. their suppliers; accept to be paid in "Aurovillian tickets". Where does this money come from, and who controls these movements of funds? The very little money that the residents makes goes almost entirely into the city's treasure chest. Unless they've kept money in accounts outside the town, the very little money they keep actually ostracizes them from the outer world, they can materially hardly leave Auroville. All the properties, houses... in Auroville belong to the community. Who actually controls the capital that all that real estate represents?

There are numerous guest houses here in Auroville and so the price varies from as low as 500 per day to 30000 per day. The place where we stayed which was perfect, was serendipity guest house we paid around 43000 per month approx.

You may be missing the point here. There actually is no money factor within the society that is auroville and aurovillians. Between themselves and in their living itself there is no money that is present. But auroville and aurovillians are charging for services they have provided to VISITORS !! How can that be free or devoid of money transactions given that they never said they are running a charity for visitors. Surely they have to meet the monetary cost of what they are providing and the cost of maintaining their premises for this service ! Just saying. 😊🌼🙏
