this game was never free to play since the game never released and you had to pay to get access, they didnt "break" away from DE, they got dropped because the game is HOT GARBAGE. im sad that this game stopped being an mmo. i payd my money on this game as a founder because it was an mmo and they lied to my face and i lost 250 bucks on this game. im FUMING. and i didnt get my money back so i will never buy a game from these devs again

I've also never seen a developer claiming a game being an online mmorpg, sold the copies then said they no longer provides servers (we cant afford them sorry!) and have to turn the game into a single-player/co-op game. Purely commercial scam. Airship will be forever banned from my game shopping list as the likes of BioWare.

Nice! I bought the game to aid the cause, but won’t download it until 1.0. I don’t usually “pre-purchase,” but it was only $22, def my kind of game, and wanted to do my tiny part in helping the devs through that big-time adversity. Always love your content, and thanks for this one!

Thanks so much for checking out the Echoes update and providing such a in depth deep dive of all the gameplay mechanics! It's certainly been a journey through early Access so far, and we are excited to show the world everything we have to offer with 1.0 later this year!

I keep coming back every month or 2. What I need in this game is direction. Also, make it so some places are so strong that I can’t go there unless I’m passed a certain point. Give me something to work up to. I feel like I can take on any and everything at lvl 5-10

I watched someone stream the gameplay from the start up to a little after the first Roamer boss. What I found is that the dialogue was either poorly paced or poorly timed. Some actions end up being contrived to make the scene happen how the devs want them to or ruin the mood of the scene due to forced comedy in a moment that didn't need comic relief. Meanwhile, the lore contradicts itself at times, so that ends up sticking with me a lot. So, while the gameplay looks fine, I don't find the dialogue and lore all that good.

Does anybody know the nationality of the voice actor who does Achilles and some others? It sounds closest to American or Canadian but not quite. Too my ear, It almost sounds,I think, similar to Danish guys who speak English kind of Like Bas Rutten the former UFC champ (I believe the original UFC used his image in their early Logo).

Every time anyone makes an rpg, i think "aight, mb this time they have made morrowind". Tbh, if games were just all copies of elder scrolls'es, i would totally go with it

Totally agree. I've never seen something similar to Elder Scrolls really, where you can pick any item, with such a similar world, they are either simpler or limited. I love Morrowind.

Great review, and I'd completely forgotten to follow what The Astronauts were up to so thank you! I LOVED Bulletstorm (still holding out hope for a sequel) and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was great as well. This looks really good, a shame it's on Epic though. Out of interest does this have an FOV slider in the options menu?

Thank you! There is indeed an FOV slider, also it seems the default is quite wide, which is nice.

This is generally pretty good, I have one particular piece of advice. I strongly recommend having a visual cut along with any change in verbal topic. It helps people subconsciously follow that a change is occurring; without it it feels like the information is coming too quickly. The change of the view doesn't even have to be to something exactly relevant to the new point of discussion, just *a* change, though, of course, if you have video that is relevant, do use it.

Did you try using an archer? The bow feels super week even with really high agility. Their spells are laughably weak compared to the pure caster classes too. I suggest you don't bother with them.

This is totally confusing me. I don't quite understand the map, nor even the core mechanics of the game. Like, when I come to one of those orange...things, and an enemy pops up. I fight it, "beat it", and then it turns into an orange "tree" that lets me fight him again by pressing 'X'. My question is, am I supposed to get anything(like an orange dot to use on the skill tree?) Or do I just beat him once and move on unless I want to practice? Because it makes me feel like I have to "perfectly" beat him in order for...sonething to happen. Same with absorption. I don't really get it. I've only successfully absorbed one enemy, and that was the first one that taught me what absorption is. I still don't get what it means when(on the skill tree) it says to 'Press L and R' to absorb enemies. How? When? I also don't get how to time attacks the way you can on defense. I'm just experimenting and can't get it. There is just so little direction it feels like. I can never tell if I'm doing something(or right for that matter), if I'm missing something, or if I just can't do it yet, and need to come back when I've gained new abilities. Is there like a guide I can read(no offense to you, I just don't have time to watch a 17 minute video that may or may not explain what I'm having trouble with, as well as shows parts of the game I haven't gotten to yet.
