My 650g was running fine and now won’t move. I change the fluid and filter just like you did, and also checked the screen. Still nothing. I’m not sure if it’s lost prime or if the pump has went bad, or maybe a sensor of some sort? Any ideas you might have I’d love to hear! Great video by the way!
@planeanddirtsimple4 күн бұрын
I appreciate you watching ! So you were pushing and it just stopped? When it’s idling is the driveshaft turning? And when you put it in gear and try to steer do the levers offer any resistance or are they free feeling?
@andrewmanasco89413 күн бұрын
@ I was pushing and then parked it. It did this once before but eventually started moving again. It’s a direct drive just like yours, and the drive shaft is turning. The levers feel free with no resistance. I put it in gear and nothing happens. I cracked the filter while running and no fluid came out.
@planeanddirtsimple2 күн бұрын
If you loosened filter and no fluid came out it sounds like you have pump problems or air is getting in the line. Possibly could be your suction line is collapsing or maybe the line has something in it stopping the flow. Being direct drive rules out the torque converter. I spoke to a friend who was a John Deere mx for years and worked on the G models. He said the fitting from suction line to pump could be bad and letting air in. It maybe a flange type connection. Let me know what you find.

HMP is the Atlanta Speedway airport located adjacent to the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Sounds like that's where your old friend is tied down now. Also, Atlanta ARTCC is located across the highway to the east of the speedway. That's where I retired as a controller several years back, and where I now work as a contract ATC instructor. I appreciate your witness for Christ in your life and work.
@planeanddirtsimple11 күн бұрын
That’s it! When I was there(about 2 years ago)N7350G was being used for instruction. The aircraft looked good. I understand there was a movie made on the field also. If I am back there one day, are visits allowed to the ARTCC? That would be interesting. Thanks! Christ is Lord of all or not at all.

Thanks for sharing your story. Always interesting to see how others got into aviation. I'm currently doing the CFI thing while working the non aviation job I have had for 30 years. Still hoping to get to fly for a living the last 15 years of my working career. Trying to follow your advice and let the doors open and not force a door open. Also have to have the faith to step away from a 30 year career when the right aviation door opens. My current job has provided very well for me and my family, so it will be a big step. I enjoy your content and hope you keep it coming!!
@planeanddirtsimple11 күн бұрын
Thanks! I think you’re being wise by providing for your family with a stable job while pursuing flying as a second job. I’m sure you know, but for others who maybe just starting, flying jobs can be short lived. I have watched companies have good years and bad years. When the bad comes the first thing to go is the airplane. Or maybe your health declines and a medical is hard to keep. That is why I have a second job doing the dirt work. I hope the doors open soon for you. When they do it will be a blessing.

We have several church members here in the northeast GA mountains HAM radio operators. I think they belong to a number of organizations. When I was overseas in the Marine Corps there was MARS (Marine Amateur Radio Service). You could call home without spending weeks pay, if you could call at all. The standing joke was people saying “I love you” “Over”.

How did you select the specific model? I assume they all work with any topcon laser model. Some of them I've seen also come with a cab receiver did yours come with that or is that a separate item?
@planeanddirtsimple3 ай бұрын
I bought that receiver because it was a Topcon and I thought it might work better with the Topcon laser vs another brand. Also I liked the display. It’s easy to see from the cab. Bright sunshine makes it more difficult but still you can see it. This model didn’t come with a cab indicator. I believe it could be added. If my cab on the dozer was enclosed I would have looked at that more.
