Filling In A Pond Phase 1

Land owner is ready to do away with his pond. During periods of no rain the pond gets stagnate and the water quality is low. Water is now provided by other sources.
Probably should have drained water first but time was short and we decided to try just pushing the water out with the dirt. Works ok but it would be better with water out first.
Second phase we are going to drain pond and grade area to drain.
