Yes, with most riding mowers, you can leave the motor running even when you're not in the seat so long as the parking brake is set.

Our Cub Cadet has a different stiffness problem. As far as I can tell so far, the forward/reverse shaft going into the hydro transmission is where the stiffness is, not the pedals or linkages.

You can xthange the oil on the first one. There is a black seal cap at the top that you pop off and you can drain it by flipping it over.

Hey there i got one with a 16hp vanguard with a little over 200hrs it seems to get hot then shut off then after about 20-30 mins later it’ll run fine for a little bit then it’ll shut back off like its over heating it sat for many years most of its life in our basement it had a really bad surging problem but i got it to idle crisp but it seems to not wanna run any tips?
@boonslickequipment36103 ай бұрын
Gosh, its hard to say without looking at it, it could be an electric component getting hot, or any other number of issues. Best of luck!

i have prob w X534. After running 20 to 30 minutes, it starts to cut off and then it finally stops . I replaced the ECU but it only takes 20 to 30 minutes of mowing to do the same cutting off until it won't start. This means I have to mow my three acres in 20 minute periods on one day, wait overnight and do the next day and again until my mowing is done. Had it serviced by JD and they said nothing wrong. What's the fix?
@boonslickequipment36103 ай бұрын
With the X500 series, we have had problems with the time delay module. That would be the likely culprit. We made a video on that specifically, I've copied the link to it below. Another thing it could be is a plugged fuel cap vent. Other than that, this video might be helpful for you, we go over a few problems that it could be: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJrNlKGFhbGBm5o

Ya know , the price tag pay for these , wouldn’t think they wouldn’t be made out of PLASTIC !!! The hood and grill .
@boonslickequipment36104 ай бұрын
We see the grilles and little green "bumper" underneath the grille broken often. The hood on these X700 series machines, though, seem to hold up pretty good even though they're made out of plastic. It seems like John Deere as switched to plastic on most of their lawn and garden equipment and even some of their tractors, too.

I do have exactly the same tractor and love it. Like this one I have mutch more hours on the meter than it really had. It happened because at fist by accident, I stop the engine stepping off the seat at few occasions. The meter continued adding hours til the battery went dead. I think same ting happened to this one. It is the best machine I ever seen co.pare to many other brand.

On average how many hours or how long should a John Deere 300 series or the newer GX series last
@boonslickequipment36105 ай бұрын
Longevity in terms of hours on any machine depends on proper maintenance, willingness to repair, and good ol fashioned luck. That said, we regularly see 325, 335, 345, and GX series machines in our shop with well over 1,000 hours. The most I've seen on one was an early 90's 325 with over 2,200 hours.

My X500 gave me fits with this issue. I read somewhere on a forum to look near the starter on the engine right side, for a single black wire, and just unplug it. I did this 2 years ago. No more stalling. Starts every time! Didn’t buy the overpriced $100.00 gizmo, either

@adamganjaman22756 ай бұрын
You have to push in the clutch and hold it in then release the parking brake the clutch is the pedal with no arrows . To start put the lever to the max top position but sometimes you should play around with it if that's not working.
