I built this last week and had pretty much the same experience. Lots of repetitive building but it goes quick. I expected it to be small, but it turned out bigger than I thought. Would like to see any other Christmas/winter builds! I just built the Nutcracker GWP yesterday and it's much better than I expected.

I was surprised by the size, i kind of thought it was going to be really too small.

I have several of these Lego poinsettias. My cat won't sample these and I'm grateful for it! If you build 4 of these together,you get a full size version ( more or less the size of the "Real" plant)!

You should send Lego a strongly worded e-mail about the mistake in the instructions, they should really fix that. 41 years!!! They should have fixed it by now! I'm just saying, I would demand a refund from Lego. You also can no longer say the word "Space" in reference to Lego without saying it like Alex doing Captain Kirk.

LOL, Yeah the Alex Space things is stuck in everybody's head.

I bought a boxed copy of this set from a guy in the Netherlands about 5 years ago, he only wanted 200 Euros plus 50 Euros shipping for it so I got it for less than $300 USD, which was a steal!!! I can confirm that all the parts to build both sets are included with the boxed version of the set.
@BrickTrains8 сағат бұрын
That is interesting, I find it odd that LEGO would provide so many extra pieces. Thanks for the Info.

Any plans to build the MTron and Blacktron II super models? I have the classic space one, I'm just not sure they're worth it to get extra parts for
@BrickTrains8 сағат бұрын
Plans, yes. But I have not made any moves towards those plans as of yet. LOL

You reminded me of how I felt about set 10176 king's castle from 2006. It felt like they were trying to use up the remaining castle pieces from their inventory. The build felt incomplete, and the accessories for the minifigs did not go together.

Great video! It had it all; Classic Lego lore, chase collecting, exclusivity, even the frustration we all love!😅 It's part of the hobby!

Yup, the only way to get it affordably was to get the 2 separate sets. I got my original boxed 1593 in 1986 and I still have the box and the instructions. It is a nice set and I love how the vehicle attaches to the back. Played a lot with this set back in the day. Edit: Also I think some of the ladder pieces you have as extras go under the plane.
@BrickTrains8 сағат бұрын
I bet you are right about the ladders, I need to go back and look at that.

Hey guys, I recently discovered this podcast and am catching up on the episodes. Still another 80 to go. Here's a question for you all: if you were to pick a 'vintage' train set (Lego-produced, not MOC) to put under your Christmas tree, which one would it be? I just had that dilemma. I have a lot of 12V and 9V sets. I think 12V is too difficult to take apart so I ignored those sets and I don't have any of the 60s or 70s sets. I would have chosen 4535, the deluxe My Own Train, but have that one at my mom's house. I ultimately went with 4563, Load N' Haul Railroad. My three kids under five seem to enjoy it, but I'm constantly worried they'll irreparably destroy it when they play with it.

Most the track s in my cuty are risen .only 2 spots in my city tracks at ground leval thru my train tunnle and .train yard .and i not got mile plate .way just been creative .with how i got my moduler s sitting onto or another base plate .and you can just. Build up around .them. So if need to move a moduler can just lift the moduler out as thay not atached easy bonus about tracks. Been above ground. Can have little shop builds. stalls walk ways under the tracks. 😊

The monorail was raised. The tram is on ground level. Those who want raised will have to wait a (few) year(s) until you want to have back a raised monorail. I was a bit sceptical about changing the monorail for a tram. But it looks good. 👌 Grtz, SG from Belgium 🇧🇪

I think my favorite part of this is how you got the train to stop so the doors are perfectly aligned with the platforms at the station. It's very satisfying. And that looked like some excellent malletting by Dakota!
@BrickTrains9 күн бұрын
@joe-bowling the door alignment is very dependent on tram speed. The other end misses by a few studs. Yeah Dakota loves the mallet... 🤣
