The child care is sucks at Ireland. How a mother would work? It means they just forced to be at home. In Sweden we have great child care system. All dagis are open 6:30 in the morning and close 18. You will drop and pick within these times. By the way the payment is depending on your income. If your income is low then the dagis is free but if you income is in higher range , the payment will be max 190 euro per month.

Prices generally don't ever go down ... they go up. That said, there have been significant increases in prices since the Covid pandemic passed. Was is due to logistics factors? Possibly, however, they should have come back down if so.

Yes prices have risen ,I think that Aldi is slightly cheaper. than Lidl ,they will say that things are cheaper but that's not so, most everything has gone up by more than 20%,.Potatoes are a rip off no matter what the farmer says.

Compared to the US irish grocery prices are very cheap .
@impromptuimmigrantsАй бұрын
That's so interesting, I wonder why that is? Does the US import a lot of food? Or is it taxed higher?

this country is no exception from climbing on the greedy train. Prices are increasing without any real justification other than saying everyone else is doing it, so I will too. A price comparison between `lidl and Aldi would be nice.

Interesting video! Just came back from Lidl here in Amsterdam. I am jealous of your prices for Irish butter. We pay almost €3 for 250 gram here. Our favorite. Much better than Dutch butter 😅 And love all the turkeys and even geese 😍 Not over here. We have the same leg of parma ham here but they are €80 and we have to order them. Chocolate and wine are cheaper here... staples in my household 😅 Great that you have the to good to go app. We should all strive to waste as less food as possible.

Lidl, one of my favourite stores when we visit our wonderful family. Mom is very good with her pricing and always looking for specials. Today we were in the OK Grocer, and butter was on a special for R60, compared to the normal price of over R90. When it comes to wine, you can get a good bottle for under R60. I've just ordered 6 bottles of Unbelievable wine, that's what it is called, for R39 a bottle. Overall, I think we in South Africa are a lot cheaper, but prices have increased quite a bit. So you are not alone. But from experience, your stores have good quality food. Woolworths here, is similar in quality. Nice to catch up with you again 🥰🇿🇦

Aldi has an app, but the Too good to go app links different local stores and restaurants. www.toogoodtogo.com/en-ie/ You put in your location and it shows you shops that provide the service. You get a lot less from restaurants/coffee shops. Aldi has been a real game changer when it comes to saving money.

Hello I am nayemur from Italy we watch your video & it’s really helpful to know about Ireland. We are planing to in Irlanda from Italy can suggest us which state will be easy to find house rent and job I know it’s really difficult to find house in rent. Thank you
@seandoherty925Ай бұрын
It is virtually impossible to find a house to rent in any area where jobs are available. That is why many young Irish people leave for other countries. Do some research on the Internet and you will find out more about the crazy situation regarding lack of affordable housing in Ireland.
@impromptuimmigrantsАй бұрын
Hi Nayemur. Finding a place to rent is quite difficult at the moment, not impossible though. look at www.daft.ie or www.housematch.ie Wish you all the best with your plans.

I ‘stagger’ my shopping generally between Lidl and Dunnes Stores depending on what I need to buy and that juggling has offset some of the pain-though I’m not buying for a family. However I’ve just returned from some time in Italy and nearly had a heart attack there when I saw the price of things. From being cheaper-in general-than Ireland a few years ago, now most things are on a par with us (except for wine-€1.90 for a litre in a tetra pack and it was very nice). Even a cup of coffee cost €5! And a cup of hot water with a teabag on the side cost €5 too! I think we’re all suffering!
@impromptuimmigrantsАй бұрын
The fact prices go up almost weekly makes it very hard to keep up and budget. Staggering shopping is great idea.

Compared to the United States, these prices are insanely CHEAP! Exotic fruits and processed/premade foods aside (soups, sweets, etc.), the basic staples and most everything else is 40%-70% cheaper there.

Nice video I wish you well. I must admit I have had some nasty spats online with South African rugby fans who seem to absolutely hate the Irish. They call it banter. But it's basically abuse. It's good to hear some positive feedback from South Africans who realise we are a good kind people. I wish your family well.
