Imagine how hard it was for those that left home decades ago! No Skype or Facebook my mom moved to the USA with a 18 mon and 6 yrs old in January from warm and sunny Greece ! It’s much much easier nowadays Whenever you get down think of how blessed you are ! ❤

So true! I couldn't imagine not being able to just pick up my phone and see my family! We are very lucky and blessed that the world is so small!

I enjoyed working in your quaint garden last year. Didn't enjoy the brambles though. So much of thorns 😉. Looking forward to seeing the transformation. See you soon ✈️🇿🇦🛬🇮🇪

Little by little yuo'll make friends with parents from the kids' school. This always happens as a young family living far from the previous community. Be confident Gardening is a nicevway to keep busy, making your plot the best way you can. In non time you'll have pots full of lovely spring colours.❤

Lekka Bronwyn ! I think your garden project will be a healthy way forward after a long winter. Hoping you are feeling better too ! Some colors in your garden will for sure brighten your day and mood. Vasbyt en voerentoe. I had a dose of Voetspore Suid Amerika 2 and a couple of other channels including yours that made my leaving Mzansi easier to bare. Keep on keeping on !!!

Same advise as before, join a club and start to build a network (not easy to meet new people as an adult). Something like badminton is ideal, inexpensive, indoors (gets you out of the house in winter months ~ might not be SAD, just depressed looking at four same walls), doesn't take too long, could be there, play and back in 60 mins, off court talking & meeting people as much as on court. Its fun to play, you'll have a laugh. Other activities/clubs are good but just might not suit when you have a young family, i.e hiking, cycling, golf all take too long. Don't be worried, "...oh I'm not good at sport bla bla bla..." (maybe you are!), there'll be all kinds of abilities there and everyone knows how hard it is at the start, everyone has gone through it. If you have a friend that'll go along with you it might make it easier. People are welcoming, give them a chance to get to know you, Get out of the house & start to build a network, get some exercise, get energy levels up (mine always do when I exercise), four birds with the one stone. It is hard to befriend people meeting them for a few minutes at school etc. Your coming & going, they're coming and going. Hope I'm not being preachy. I'm Irish but I moved and so didn't know people also.

Thank you for your lovely comment. You're absolutely right about joining a club of sorts. I have started going for walks every evening which I'm just loving. Makes a huge difference just getting out and moving!
