I left it in there until it stopped "fizzing". I honestly don't know which was in there. I just added more water to the sludge, I think that tank sat for over a year before firing it back up, I don't remember which was in it.

It's what's called a "reverse stretch". Basically a K with more stock options. Uses a MP5k BCG with a slightly longer recoil assembly.

Thats what I ended up doing for the seam, just fusing the pieces together, seems to be holding up fine. Yes, Velocity has kits available.

I'm not sure. They are a little different in width I believe between the two manufacturers.

I used clamps for the back plate and the grip/magazine well. No fixture, just clamps when needed.

There's other places that sell side plates [or] you can just make the side plates easily by searching the schematics (schematics are "protected" by 1A speech) on scribe and other locations and buying the metal at your local hardware store/metal shop. 🎉 😂

It was pretty straightforward, I didnt use a jig. Just some clamps/shims where necessary and put the upper and the bracket in there to keep everything lined up and squared. There;s tabs on all the parts, they kindof click together.

Surprised you didn't have any warping or anything to deal with.

It reinforces the front of the lower/frame. Theres a bit of stress on that takedown pin while firing. It may or may need some fitting. Mine fit pretty snug in there, and I just plug welded it into the center section once I had the three plates fitted together.

For the trigger gaurd do you push it all The way forward or do you push it back to mate up flat against the magelwell?

@@kevinpayne7557 When mine went together I did it tight up against the magazine well. There is a roughly 0.5mm gap where it looks like the trigger guard could have been slid forward away from the grip, but I welded it up with it up against the grip. As long as its lined up with its tab you're probably fine. Maybe just do a small tack weld and then fit the trigger parts, make sure it works before welding the rest.

There was a hole in the bracket where it rests on the lower frame, I just plug welded it there, when everything was lined properly

The catch seemed OK as-is. I did have to polish the ramp, and tweak it downwards a little bit. Just used a hammer and a large punch, it was maybe 1mm-2mm too high when I welded it in.

Idk how my FFL said it’s less then a 80 percent kit, becuZs you have to weld and still fab to make it into a firearm, but that’s what I heard,

These flats would physically work, but would look a little different than the German style receiver. They lack the "rib" around the magazine well.

This was a simple parkerized finish. Bead blasted the parts, and then submerged them in parkerizing solution, 185-190 degrees. It can be done on your stovetop at home.

I parkerized it. I'm thinking I should have maybe left it in longer, or added more manganese so it would be darker. But it doesn't look too bad as is.

Where do you get your parkerizing solutions?

I bought the parts from Velocity directly. They were I think $279 back when I got them. Maybe $60 for a pair of side plates on GunBroker. Then just a bit of time and welding.

ER70S-2 I think....just plain old rod for mild steel. Not sure how it will parkerize, I haven't gotten that far yet. But I plan on parking this one.

Not finished yet, but getting there. Its about 75% done. Little more welding. Then probably an overview again, and comparison to MPA parts.

That sucks. It was awhile ago but I think this flat came in a box, was decently reinforced, with some other parts. Didn't have any unwanted bends or damage.

It would take some creativity to make an 8mm fit. I grabbed one and checked....magazine well is close, ejection port would work for an empty but you wouldn't be able to extract and eject a live round. Would take a lot of work, but maybe?

No, the denials on these are (1) a shelf that wraps around the back of the magazine well to prevent a full auto pack from fitting and (2) the removal of the full auto trip on the bolt carrier.

@@skeewaux4987 Yeah, getting that shelf installed ASAP is a wise decision, otherwise your receiver is kindof in a legal grey-area.

@@skeewaux4987 Better safe than sorry. Vendors like HKParts and RTG Parts have semi auto shelfs, they're relatively cheap. Just note that placement is really important, if you go too high or to low your gun will have problems.

I've got it tacked together right now, thats about it. Ran out of argon gas so need to grab a new tank before I go any further with it. Been busy with other stuff. I got these side plates on gunbroker IIRC
