When we fit the linearized function, the slope is S/2, thus S can be calculated as 2 x slope. S is the sorptivity parameter of the soil, which is a measure of the capacity of the soil to absorb water by capillary, at later times when the soil becomes saturated, S is no longer very important: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sorptivity

Update 16 feb 2023: I was not able to install OpenFoam 10 on Debian 11, downgrading to OpenFoam 9 solved the issue, also qt5-default in dependent packages deprecated but it is still possible to install the remaining packages, there is a workaround, see for example askubuntu.com/questions/1335184/qt5-default-not-in-ubuntu-21-04

I tried running "hello world" in ADA and apparently there is a problem with gnatmake (gnat1 missing on windows). Trying to solve the issue and will get back to you

I have set the path to the gnat1 (gnat1.exe) compiler on the environmental variables (as described in the video), here it was under MinGW\libexec\gcc\mingw32\3.4.5 it runs now (you can try a simple hello world script in ada) but it does not compile, I am having trouble with the "-mtune=switch", it appears to be a bug. I will be out of the windows computer for a couple of weeks

sir I have some issues kindly help me when I use the RETC program I perform steps like the type of problem. retention data only...next, cm, day next, vangenten equation m=1-1/n, no retention data points 14, next a box appear her I select clay. then values appear here theta s 0.38 theta r 0.0068 alpha 0.008 n= 1.09 what is the value Predicted or observed value???????,,,,,,-1 after it i select nural network prediction and % sand ,silt clay and in bottom put values of sand silt clay bulk density value after this i slect predict here some values of Theta s , theta r , alpha and n are apear .kindly tell me about these values mean????????? ......-2 when I press accept . all value for clay is change what is the means of this value????"""""-3 sir tell me what value of theata s, theta r , alpha stage which vlues I will be use for plotting a curve ? 1- value???????,,,,,, OR 2- ????????? ..... OR value 3-????""""" these are some points I can not understand.

This is a bit more than I can help you replying here, you might want to look into nonlinear regression theory and the original papers. Please read the manual that came with retc's download and van Genuchten's paper: acsess.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.2136/sssaj1980.03615995004400050002x Then if you still need we can try to find a way of providing you further help.

That would be more on the domain of creating scripts in GIS software (ArcGis, Qgis) I imagine. Although I had some students working with that it is probably best to consult a GIS specialist.

theta is the soil volumetric water content, if you get the water retention curve using "pressure plate apparatus" theta is obtained from weighing the undisturbed soil core at each matric potential. You will get gravimetric water contents which can be converted to volumetric water content at the end of the experiment. A good reference is Methods of Soil Analysis - Physical Methods, Soil Science Society of America (Dane and Topp, 2002)
