What I have already done: loosened the tension of the warp, joined each short thread with a weaver's knot to the new thread at different distances, re-tensioned the warp and loaded the loose threads in the back with sliding weights.

The crows pattern looks really cool, I like twill, and it looks like a great idea for how to use up my thread in a project I can use after I finish spinning it, I really had no plans for what to do with it after it was made but I couldn’t resist the pretty wool so I started spinning it up anyways. I am so enjoying spinning a beautiful blue toned multicoloured wool top at the moment with the colours all running along the entire length of the roving so I can have all of the really beautiful colours blending together or completely separately in a short length of thread or longer lengths with smooth or sharp transitions depending on what I feel like looking at on my spindle from day to day and I think that pattern would highlight the incredible shade changes and variations in the colours possible in the threads that comes from that beautiful wool, I wasn’t sure if it would be really suitable to use for a knitting project because when I tested a short length of yarn by plying it enough times to get a thick enough thread for the type of knitting I really enjoy doing from the thin threads I enjoy spinning it made the colour variations much too homogeneous for my tastes because it didn’t really show all of the beautiful colours of the wool from that roving to their best advantage and made it look more like a tweed style yarn with only very little speckles of the different colours and it didn’t really show the colour transitions very well as a six ply fingering weight, but the way that the twill weave is depicted on the pattern example photo looks like it would showcase the colour variations of the wool thread amazingly well, also I was worried about how to have a wider fabric that was pieced together in a way that would look as if it was naturally woven in one piece with a narrow loom width for making a sofa blanket with the sort of variegated thread that I like to spin but this looks like it solves all of my worries in one pattern, yay!

On my crank handle there is a threaded hole that a set screw fits in and that helps hold it on the hub. You might be able to replace yours. It looks like the yarn is not moving all the way up and down through the 'slotted guide' as it should after the first couple of turns. I am finding it hard to see why it isn't (even when I slow the video down). Perhaps it would be worth winding it slowly while carefully watching to see why it is not winding up and down the full height of the slotted guide and instead reversing direction halfway through the cycle?
@kanika37903 ай бұрын
@@meganmills6545 Thank you so much for helping. I did figure it out eventually. The guide for the yarn was slightly bent and did not allow the yarn to travel perpendicular to the cone.
