@@eyes2338 I see what you mean- I have grown a lot and see Hong Kong as my home now! Most of my lifelong friends are from Hong Kong and I’m taking my wife up there next year. The people of Hong Kong are amazing, and the city is very safe and social. I just meant when I first moved there, as a young kid. Also yes- skip these!

@@MarcVincentNiloI’m glad I could help you out. The fit on these is way better than the Kobe 8’s and a few of the other drop in midsole. I will say though- the size 11 of these was way bigger than the size 10.5. I’m glad I could convince you, these will be on the top 10 shoes of the year list. Also, if you’re a wide footer the ja 2 this year is great

How do you feel these would be for just a walking shoe and everyday comfort shoe to wear daily?

@@andyc413 the step in comfort is ok, there is just one section of the shoe on the outer side that has a raised bump like the previous models that can get painful if worn for many hours. Also, the material on the shoe can get dirty easier than other shoes. I’d recommend the ja 2 or gt hustle 3 for walking/a safer fit

nah, its not nostalgia. youre right. the OG 8s were and are still great. the Protro 8s are different and inferior. i still got my OGs, and kept them in excellent condition. i still hoop in mine and they still feel great. after a decade of use, they still somehow hold up. yeah the lunarlon has bottomed out a bit, but its still decent at the very least. i played in the Protro 8s and didnt like them. felt stiff and the cushion kinda sucks. i was told they feel good after breaking them in, but wasnt working out for me to be honest. in between games i switched to my OGs, and it was almost a night and day difference. made no sense why bottomed out lunarlon felt better than brand new react. i was thinking about experimenting and swapping the drop-ins of the OGs and Protros to see if that made a difference.

Hello, I’m a 6 ft 4, 106kg SF/PF I’ve been looking at the Jordan 38 Highs, the Nike Gt Jump Force 2 and The Puma MB03, Lebron 22s I’m a bit of a jack of all trades, I can drive, I can ball handle and I get in the paint as well, I would say I do make a lot of fast movements and i’m less of a slow- in the paint guy, more like a giannis type of player, what shoes would you reccomend for me? I have wide feet too, if you or anyone else could give me a recommendation out of the four then if you want to add another reccomendation of a good shoe that would be fine too. Thanks!

Right now the ja 2 has been amazing in everything just a little bit of a lack in cushioning. I could also give you a better answer if you let me know some shoes you’ve liked historically.

Actually this is my first pair of basketball shoes i’m looking to buy, the ones i have currently are the Jordan Max Aura Basketball Shoes cool grey highs, i want something that’s not tight but snug and comfortable at the same time, good looking is important for me too, traction and support probably my two big hitters, would love a good cushion too

Hey I wanted to ask you, I am a 6"1 volleyball player with a 40" vert. I max jump a lot during practice for 3x a week. I would actually recommend the Gt Hustle 3, or the way of wade all city 12 ENCORE. They are on sale right now, the gt hustle 3 has a bit less ankle support, but the cushioning is the best I have felt in years and the encore will be more bouncy. If I had to choose between these and serious player only, I would actually choose these as they are easier on the joints- they have a better heal to toe transition.

@@someones_here what!? Why is that… that’s crazy man. I would say the ja 2 will fit you nicely. Potentially, if you want something with maximum cushioning I’d highly reccomend the gt hustle 3. That being said- it’s very much built like a running shoe. See if you can snag a pair of kd16’s not the 17’s.

I actually bought the support drop in midsole from SPO and placed them in the Kobe 8 . They feel a lot better compared to the stock insoles but it did create a more tighter fit

now thats actually a great idea, - unfortunately these shoes are so tight for me, and too long, so I dont know if I could fix my issues but that information could help many hoopers who have both. I should have tried that!

@@ttvWideShoesmaybe u just needed to break them down a bit more , from my experience with the recent Kobes it takes a while to fully break them in . Took me 3 months to break in my 4s and Im still breaking down these 8s and also I feel u need to tweak the laces, I personally dont have the last holes laced up in my left shoe and I heard some have skip some of the middle holes for a better fit Also in order to make the spo support work is go half size down and if ever trim them in the sides. They arent a 1 to 1 fit and you are gonna need to trim the sides which are ok because 90% of the support is in the cushion on the midsole . U will need to trim because they will curl in the shoe and cause more tightness and pain. I also heard some went for the explosive midsole but I already have that in my game 1 so I wanted to change these up with the kobe8s since the main issue is the cushion

@@BabayaGuns I wore these for about 1.5 month(s) so about 7 weeks. I respect what you’re saying and will agree with you on the other Kobe models. But the original Kobe 8 didn’t have this big of a break in time and- if I have to sacrifice that much time it’ll still result in a lower “fit ranking.” That being said- I’m glad you got them to work for you. I just am not a fan of paying $180 and having to “make it work” with the lacing and fit modifications

@@ttvWideShoes not gonna lie taking that long to break them in would drive me crazy . I agree the originals were a lot better but sadly Nike sucks now and would only release the protro line. The quality isnt the best and heard people break their recent Kobe5 xrays after a few runs. I think stepping away from Nike is the right move indeed. At least you get your money back

@@sanantoniospurs2269 witness 8 is a great choice, go up a full or half size. And- renew elevate will be better if you want a lower to the ground shoe. I’d also reccomend the way of wade flash if you can get it where you live.

man the sizing is defo weird im 25cm to be exact and on the website that i bought theres 25.5cm option which is US men 8 but it was sold out. in the size chart provided, there's women and men sizing shown where i found US women 9 is 25.5cm but theres no USW sizing option on the website when ordering. i contacted the chat tho they said to choose USW 9 hope i got the right size

I get shin splint with my asics skyelite ff2 because I have wide feet which makes me overpronate but everytime I put insoles in I feel like the shoe is too small and it feels shaky to jump and land on insoles. I am 6" 180 pounds with a decent vertical (I get my whole wrist above the rim). If you have any tips let me know please. i did quite a bit of research but haven't found anything truly helpful except for your channel

@@hashille6381 I have debated posting a video about how to prevent these injuries. Do you foam roll? Do you do patella tendon raises? Shin splints are very preventable with a small amount of physical therapy based lifting.

@@ttvWideShoes honestly I want to find basketball shoes for playing volleyball. the shoes I'm looking for have a soft midsole + shock absorb (because in my opinion the shockwave 5 feels hard/firm midsole and I've tried to break in but haven't fully found the feel). for the fitting at least don't be too narrow (my shockwave 5 feels narrow for 1 hours of use, it feels like there's something pinching on my toes, you could say it's tight). for a strong outsole I sometimes wear it for outdoor. so my choice is between the 3 shoes above.

I’m a 5’10” heavy boy with a slightly wide if not wide feet at size 12 Have the AC12s and so far those fit snug to normal which I like. Do you think size 12 would be good to go for these too? You mentioned these outsoles are durable… are these AC12 durable too or slightly less durable than those?

@@weezer241 I think you should go with the 12 in these. I wear a 10.5 in the AC 12 and a 10.5 in the serious player only. When I went up to an 11 in the serious player only- it was huge. Way too big. These may not look it, but they will be about the same in regards to durability.

@@weezer241 I hope that helps, the serious player 1 needs a 1-1 fit. But- the serious player 1 is a tiny bit smaller than the ac12. It’s really tough, but- you could always get two and return 1. That’s what I did. It’s just that the 10.5 versus the 11 was a huge jump in size. Good luck!

@@ichiagou sorry I didn’t mean to hit enter on that, phone was in my pocket and that came across rude! Essentially- I liked the 20 more. It was more comfortable but these did provide a better lockdown. Overall, it depends on personal preference. For wide footers- the 20 is better

Are the lebron nxxt gen ampd and the lebron 21s good for wide foot? (I have short but 4E-6E feet so I always go up 1.5 us sizes😂
