would you say that the process is rather similar with the td-17 or would it be completely different?

Yes that is very similar. In EZD3 you should select the TD17 preset for the right input (the midi mapping). That’s the only difference. Good luck!

In GB you can create a midi track and then you activate the plugin EZD3 (on that track). There must be several tutorials that show it in detail. Probably also by Toontrack.

There’s a better way to separate these tracks. You have to add ezdrummer as a 16 channel instead of stereo. Look it up. It will save you a ton of time. Great video. Thanks for sharing!

"Sounds awesome! How does sound input work on a laptop? I can't see the audio interface. Is it possible to input directly? Is it possible to use EZ Drummer 3 live without latency for output?"
@theundercoverscene7247
@theundercoverscene7247 3 ай бұрын
Thanks! Depending on your drum module you sometimes don’t need an audio interface. My TD27 (but also a TD17) can connect via usb directly to the laptop. I have no experience with using EZD3 live on stage. Latency can be an issue. There are settings in EZD3 to keep them low (sample rate). But there will always be some latency.

I recently used Ezdrummer live at a gig. It worked pretty well. I used a Scarlet 4i4 interface and by running usb into the bands XR18 I managed to split it into four outputs for kick, snare, toms and cymbals for better FOH EQ.

Hey brother great video!!!! I am in the process of getting a Roland TD27KV for the second time. I just know I can get more out of the drums with Ezdrummer 3 When I had them last I used a focusrite I interface with a windows based Laptop. I still had a lot of latency. I'm wondering if it because I didn't turn local control off? Also I have thought about getting a Mac instead. What specfic apple computer do you use? Thanks!

Great cover and nice explanation. I watched another one of your vids on EZ drummer and I have a question. I’m using a Td17 module e kit connected to MacBook via usb cable. I want to be able to use EZD while I jam along to music using Spotify for example. Is it possible to do that and hear both through my headphones? Would headphones connect to module or Mac? And would I need another separate interface? Or would the only way be to do what you did where I would have to take the time to upload each song as a file onto Logic Pro track and then play along. Any help would be appreciated!
@theundercoverscene7247
@theundercoverscene7247 9 ай бұрын
Hi Stanley, thanks! You’d need to connect your module to your computer in order to activate the EZD sounds. Either in your DAW or the stand alone version of EZD. Then you should be able to stream songs from Spotify to your module (via Bluetooth) and play along and hear the EZD sounds. There could be a tiny bit of delay, depending on the sample rate you are running (in EZD). But no, you don’t need to record the song first. Hope that helps!

@theundercoverscene7247

Thanks! Do you mean your single midi track? You can export that in GarageBand: Export mix I believe it’s called. So you activate the EZD plugin on the midi track, then you solo that track and click on export. You’ll get a audio/wave file of only the drums. Hope that helps!

I Just got a Roland VAD507 with the TD27v2 and wanting to record as well. Your stuff has def helped with the process. Id be curious do know your camera tricks. Are you just creating a click at the beginning to sync everything to?
@theundercoverscene7247
@theundercoverscene7247 Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks a lot! Glad it is useful! Sounds like you have a great setup (too :), I’m curious how you like the VAD. To sync multiple cameras, there is a handy multi-cam feature in Davinci Resolve, the editing program I use. It can sync on sound (that would be the ticking sounds recorded by the cameras). Sometimes it doesn’t work for all cameras and I manually drag one track until it is in sync. So I look at what moment I hit a snare for example and when you hear it. You can drag per frame accuracy (nudging). It’s important to sync all tracks before you start to make cuts in the video track(s). Hope that helps!

@@theundercoverscene7247 Thanks.. yeah I use Final Cut Pro and there is the same thing there for syncing audio. I just wasn't sure if you were doing some sort of visual stick click in the beginning to line everything up

Really cool! I have no experience with stuff like EZdrummer and I'm still pretty new to drumming, but I'm super familiar with In Utero (being that it's been out so long!) and I can hardly tell the difference in the drum sound. Awesome work! I'm definitely going to pick up EZdrummer once I can actually carry a tune on drums.

I would like to point out that with EZdrummer 3 you can change the velocity curve per pad within EZdrummer an create a midi drum preset so you dont have to change the module pad sensitivities. You can also change the midi note mappings.
@theundercoverscene7247
@theundercoverscene7247 Жыл бұрын
Good comment. Both work I believe. I prefer to set sensitivity settings already in the module, so it is closest to my playing style, also if I’m just playing along without recording. About the mapping: I agree, that can be convenient. Thanks!
