I'm disfellowshipped 27 years this month. However, I went to Passover on March 24 this year and was so impressed with how things have changed that now I am studying and attending Zoom meetings in Keizer Oregon. You would be amazed at how things are not like it was. I was baptized in 1979 and disfellowsipped in 1997. Hoping to be reinstated in 2024.

Therefore you have either a lot of miserable married couples or a lot of people cheating and plotting a way to get out of their marriage. It’s all too common. I haven’t known too many happily married couples in the JW religion. My mom was so sad all the time. I love my dad but he was not nice to my mom. He used the Bible as a weapon to keep her in line and counseled her like a child when he though she wasn’t being in subjection. My sisters husband cheated on her while she was pregnant with their child with another witness in their district. It’s been over 20 years and She still has to see the other woman at assemblies. It’s a horrible situation. I refused that for myself. I will not be miserable. My ex husband was a horrible husband and I was a horrible wife. We got married way too young because we were horny young kids that never got a chance to know each other. Turns out he was a addicted to pornography and had relationships with other women. I left, grew up and found a way better life for myself. I’m so glad my children will not have to live that life.

But deep down inside there’s an emptiness that can’t be filled, despite all that you can do, eventually, you find yourself questioning what the hell you’re doing. You find your life going on in circles and wonder what the purpose is. Then you start wondering if you should go back, then bad things happen and you pray to god for the first time in a while, then you slowly make the transition back to the religion knowing it was a curse to leave in the first place. Of course not everyone is like this but I’ve seen many doing this exactly

So true. Never been this happy and at peace with myself. I still do mistakes, made sin in my life, but able to resolve it myself. And most of all, I still believe in God, and knows God is love, He wants us to be happy not a depressed servant. I wish my mother and siblings can also realize it, so we can have a happy family bonding together, a real family relationship. What I hate most is the hypocrisy.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe in hell it's in the Bible, Bible says Jesus was in hell for 3 days, JW's do not believe in HELLFIRE where people are tortured for the next thousand million years, the Catholic Church invented HELLFIRE to scare people to go to church, and the Protestant and born again movements followed that same scare tactics, and scaring people is very effective
