Chrystal’s and opals still baffle me, I cannot understand the difference.

What differentiates a black opal from a dark opal? I would love to have a good opal to call my own. I don't care about the shape, just colour ( notice I spelled color in (Australian )

Sometimes, I get nervous about when you go deep into the color. But then I ensured myself that you're the profession, l and I just started learning about opals and how to cut them. I enjoy your videos and teaching. TY!

With the blob in the middle at the point of seeing a sheet across the bottom, why not try flipping the stone from the other side?

Justin, love your work, can you tell me why you don't work on some of the trickier sand bits, with hand tools? as i watch you trim away so much of the stone - do you ever just leave pieces as specimens?

The tiny opal I have is blue green with tiny bits of yellow which is my favorite a true black opal I guess.

Looks like you need to balance your wheel. On my grinder I've used Self-Aligning Spherical Washers which balanced my grinder's wheel when I was totally stumped.
