Have you ever gotten negative Spotify streams? I've seen it now a couple times- it's like they gave me streams and took em back.... how can a stream be a negative number???
@storytime.musicc15 сағат бұрын
i feel this video was a little misleading on distrokid, the extras are not hidden costs and not needed, they are optional and are found at the very bottom every time you release a song, and you also don't need the "label plan" to customise your label name

I read many commnets on reddit saying that Landr delays so much in accepting your song, and i saw one saying that landr delays to pay him, is this true?

How do you remove the copyright of a song if an artist lease a beat and use it but copyrighted it ?

So basically use one form is you did it your self... neat.

Recent CD Baby user here. My issue with this process is that the 6 months will come and go with no change. And despite CDBaby's site telling how you can write to support for help if the youtube artist channel never happens, the truth is you can wait another 6 months with no response for support as well. CDBaby has its advantages, but customer support on things like this is NOT one of them.

Hi. So if I understand correctly. It is better to do nothing about the copyright note of your own music in your own OAC, so that your distributor collects royalties for you (and their cut). While if you do make a dispute, the distributor will not but you will be able to monetize the video on your own (but only if your channel is eligable of course). Therefore, for small channels it is better to not dispute the copyright of your own music on your own OAC until the channel grows? Did I get it right?

I'm watching this for the same reason and just saw at the end where he says that cover songs can't be distributed to KZbin or TikTok. So now I have even more questions and am more frustrated about the entire situation.

Thanks for all your great content! We are a subscriber to you channel. This question regards to album or single (song) BMI & US Copyright registration. First to state is we do music as a hobby so not professionally. So as a hobby we can’t dedicate so much time into making our music. So completing songs can take us months or even years. So we do have one song completed. It’s music (written chord progressions), written lyrics and professional recording of this music one song is all completed. We have other songs, but only in various states of progress so not completed. Who knows when the planned total of 12 songs we working on is all completed (well 11 song remaining actually as one song as mentioned is fully completed). So we plan have all 12 songs on an album. The one song already fully completed is as we plan the first track on our planned 12 track album. So our question is what do you suggest for us optioning to either just copyright with US Copyright office and register with BMI as one song already completed and in future re-register that completed song on the album or just complete the entire process as an album? And if we register as an album but don’t get done with remaining 11 songs for months or couple years can we still distribute the one song (is there any time limit with US copyright &/or BMI if we select doing it all as album? Thanks for your time and energy!

Hallo Dear Ryan. Im have just tried to register my account in BMI and they ask for paiment 75 USD as registration fee. I heard from you that the registration in BMI is for free. Is this a mistake form BMI or do they ask for paiment because im from Poland? Thank you in advance for your reply. Pablo

I really appreciate your review! I'm currently with CDbaby, which I've enjoyed since 2000. While I still consider myself a D-Lister, it sounds like Landr might be a much better fit for artists like me, especially with the smooth transition you mentioned. I don’t handle mixing or mastering; I’m primarily a singer-songwriter who strums a bit of acoustic guitar. Given that, the collaborative features of Landr are quite enticing. I've used Landr before for some quick mastering, so I'm somewhat familiar with their services, but I had no idea they had grown so much. Thanks once more! P.S. Could you do a video highlighting the collaborative side of Landr?

Now its a different story if you are doing a live broadcast with KZbin-If they see a content ID if you are live, they will shut yours live stream off until that song is no longer playing. So what happens in that case for Artists(you can get a strike for that)...Just asking. .

I dislike both and find it predatory that it costs so much money just to simply release music. Furthermore seein only 380 dollars for 100,000 streams is soulcrushing. You can make that in 3 days of minimum wage.

Subject: Request for Clarification and Rights Rectification Regarding DR and PH Management by ST Music International Inc. Dear Songtrust Team, I am registered with Songtrust as a songwriter for the administration of my copyrights. Upon reviewing the reports related to my works, I have noticed that ST Music International Inc. holds 100% of the reproduction rights (DR) and public performance rights (PH) for some of my compositions. This situation is concerning because: I have never signed any agreement or explicitly consented to transfer these rights to ST Music International Inc. I could not find any reference in your terms and conditions indicating that Songtrust may delegate these rights to third parties without my consent. I kindly request detailed clarification regarding this attribution, specifically: Is this management by ST Music International Inc. part of your standard process? On what basis were these rights assigned to ST Music? What agreements or clauses justify this distribution? Additionally, I am formally requesting the immediate rectification of my rights to restore a distribution that aligns with my intentions. My reproduction (DR) and public performance (PH) rights should revert to me or be managed exclusively by Songtrust, in accordance with our initial agreement. I would appreciate it if you could prioritize this request and inform me of the actions taken to resolve this situation. I am available to provide any necessary documentation or additional information to facilitate the process. Thank you in advance for addressing this matter promptly. I look forward to your response. Best regards,

To be fair. I think 99% of us need to realise the main point of distribution is to get your music out there. If anyone is doing this to make money, you should walk away as there is very little money in digital music as it is. Use this to promote and distribute, make your money from shows and merch.
@mykael-soul-rock9 күн бұрын
Yep, I know that. That's probably true of most artists that aren't on the level of a Taylor Swift, who made over 100 million bucks in one year from album streams.

Impecable tutorial. You say one needs to give the real/original name, but what about the artist/pseudonym name. Does LANDR not ask for it to be included?

How about you just listen to people's stuff and when you identify something that sounds good enough to be in sync, monetize your connections and know by offering to push it to your contacts with you taking a cut of the proceeds. If you were both confident in your skills as well as your connections, seems like that would be the best way to approach this. As long as you aren't taking more than 20-25% would be reasonable to most musicians.
