I think what could happen, in relation to inventory management, is to add some form of "inventory solution" to the Nether. The overworld has an early-game bundle for all the random stuff you get in small quantities like flowers, crafting stations, hostile mob drops, compacted ores, potion ingredients, different types of wool, and so on. On the opposite side of the spectrum, you have the shulker box from the literal *End-game,* which is like a chest that doesn't drop its items when broken. There could be a mid-game item that would be created using Nether materials, the only questions are what purpose the item should serve and where exactly you find the materials. You also have the slight issue of how you tell the player "Nonono, you NEEDED these Nether materials, you couldn't just use regular old leather from the Overworld for this." if you were to do something like a toolbelt.

Most of your suggested changes just result in things taking much longer to achieve when time is already limited by work and family. I'm all for changing old things to make them relevant again, and I don't disagree with some of your suggestions. But nerfing elytra because you don't like how easy it makes traveling? Absolutely not. If you don't like them, don't use them. But the vast majority do. Just an example. I like exploring, but I don't want it shoved down my throat. Again, mc is fine how it is.

Elytras, totems, and enchantments are some of the biggest problems with minecraft now
@GreenJab12 күн бұрын
And thats why they are some of the most important changes in this mod
@BlueEngland12 күн бұрын
Let's break it down! ENCHANTING // ANVIL Honestly, I agree with a lot of this! Changing playstyles with enchanting limits instead of being able to shove everything on one sounds perfect for minecraft! No notes. TRANSPORT // ELYTRA Okay.... let's see how bad this is... First of all, most players don't even get to the end dimension, let alone an elytra. Yeah, people who use the internet a lot are more likely to have gotten there, but treating the small amount of people in the minecraft community as the only demographic worth catering to isn't going to be very good... Next up, dragon's breath boosting... I don't like this. Maybe if it was a stronger option to a nerfed firework? I don't see how making the elytra more grindy is going to help with player freedom or isn't going to take most of the fun out of it. Not really sure how much the rain will effect the elytra, but making it stop completely is just kinda... rude? I guess? No clue how to word it any better. Horses... yeah, that's pretty good. Horse enchantments would be cool, horse boats too. Camels are good too but having to trade to get villagers to follow you would just fill your inventory with trash. Maybe a new option could be added that doesn't force a trade? Minecarts definitely need some buffs. Copper rails would be interesting, but honestly I'd say amethyst would be better as that's even more lacking in anything. INVENTORY // CRAFTING We *do* need more storage. Most players don't own ender chests & shulker boxes due to not getting to the end, as I've said before. A few more slots wouldn't hurt at all, and would definitely be a great addition that nobody would complain about. Scrolling through hotbars is... not ideal for me, mostly because I scroll between my hotbar slots & using numbers is. very annoying. I doubt people would receive that well, and it wouldn't work on mobile. Tools! A toolbelt is a good idea, something like how the bundle works would be great! I don't understand why you'd want more slots for the bundle and not for the main inventory but whatever. More convenient crafting would be nice! But making the crafting grid in the inventory actual slots would feel a bit weird. COMBAT // MOBS Yeah, combat is a bit weak. Better than it was before (I'm one of those guys. Clickspamming is not fun nor is it easy, especially for disabled people) but many if not all of those changes would be greatly appreciated. Totems aren't really that problematic, at least in my opinion. Dying really doesn't effect too much for people who have keep inventory off other than a desperate run back to your stuff if it hasn't already burnt up. Kinda just annoying. In multiplayer worlds it effects more because others can actually take your stuff off you... My suggestion is to change how raids work instead of nerfing the totem itself. Make it not farmable. Honestly zombie villagers could go either way for me, but I'm leaning towards... making it another gamerule. Yep. Make villagers zombify by default & have a gamerule to disable that. Simple & effective. Phantoms! I love those guys so much but... yeah, they need these nerfs. Very annoying for experienced players and- HEY. DON'T INSULT MY FAVOURITE GUY LIKE THAT!!!! Ugh. Fucking hell, be respectful. I do like the potion effects idea somewhat. It's a simple way to make the game harder as you go for better stuff! Maybe nerf creepers a bit too since, like, if you're gonna do all that to the phantom you should probably also do some to the second most annoying mob in the game. Finally armour trims & peaceful mobs. All wonderful ideas. Beating the game on peaceful is the biggest challenge in minecraft but it's definitely a better idea to let peaceful players actually able to craft fishing rods without killing cats. GENERATION // EXPLORATION The end is a wonderful dimension that unfortunately doesn't have a lot going on. Some biome variation would be nice, more elevated islands... etc. Eyes of ender pointing towards cities is... eh... I'd prefer if they lead to the end gateways, just cause I don't wanna write things down. Amplified biomes would be awesome to find rarely in the world. Most worlds I generate are very... boring. This goes for structures too, but some dial-backs are definitely needed. Zombie horses in dead towns would be really awesome & so would more zombie-related horse spawning, kinda like a skeleton trap. Azalea wood & green axolotls would be great for decoration & amethyst noteblocks would be a cool addition, but something I've wanted for ages is cut amethyst building blocks. Bedrock features coming to java would obviously be a good idea, bedrock is such a pretty version of the game. Bring back the bright green shattered savannah grass please. FINAL THOUGHTS Some good ideas, great ones even, but there's some things that'd really add some unneeded grind which you say you don't want, such as the dragon breath fireworks, or there's things that'd be a pain for how certain people control the game, like multiple hotbar scrolling. The only part of this video that truly irks me is the phantom hate... and that's really just a difference in opinion. That's about it! I hope you don't feel anything bad about some of the more negative things I've said? Coming at this in good faith, so hoping this sounds more constructive than hateful. Good luck out there! And good luck to anyone else who read through this whole thing. Have a wonderful day.
@GreenJab10 күн бұрын
I never said I hate phantoms, unlike many who just want to get rid of them. And in my part 3 video talking about insomnia I actually make them an interesting part of the gameplay. You talk about me nerfing elytra, but also how most don't even reach the end, so its not like its going to affect them anyway, and sure fireworks require breath, but the conversion rate is on average one dragon fireball to a stack of rockets, and the dragon shoots more commonly in part 3 so its not like its a grind grind, just another aspect to resource gathering that everything else in the game is.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Wild Update being a pretty big disappointment. The deep dark is really cool, but the whole point of the update when it was originally revealed was to provide refreshes to old biomes that made them more immersive and unique. But then when the update came out, it didn’t do that AT ALL. It’d be REALLY nice if the overworld biomes actually DID get that uniqueness and immersiveness that was originally promised. Especially seeing as all those Nether biomes were SUPER unique. Possibly in the form of having unique mob spawns for different biomes, like in the Nether. It’s REALLY weird how the only unique hostile mobs are the husk, the stray, and now the bogged. But the nether mobs are overflowing with uniqueness!

I cannot comprehend making all these changes to fishing, but AVOIDING any change that makes fishing any more FUN. Imo, any fishing minigame that is just “press the button to cast a line, then press it again once you get a bite and then boom you’re done” is automatically a terrible fishing minigame. SO MANY games are guilty of this: Minecraft, Terraria, Animal Crossing, Hades, Core Keeper, Don’t Starbe, and MANY more. It sucks. There should be more fishing minigames like Stardew Valley’s version, which is INCREDIBLY fun. I can fish for several in game days in a row in Stardew and not get bored!

13:35 I’ve never used an iron farm, but why would ANYONE need an iron farm in the EARLY GAME??? The only reason that I would consider making an iron farm is if I need to build something that requires DOZENS of redstone components such as hoppers and pistons. If all you need is a set of iron gear, just go mining!! You can easily get a whole stack of iron just by exploring a cave or three! And if you think that’s too dangerous, go mining on mountaintops!

Making rockets cost dragon’s breath would just make things incredibly annoying, as it would encourage spending like 30 minutes on a SINGULAR dragon fight to gather stacks upon stacks of breath, and NOT respawning the dragon on multiple separate occasions.
@GreenJab12 күн бұрын
You can still use firework rockets that contain a star in them. besides, at 1 breath per 8 rockets and multiple breath per fireball, that like a stack of fireworks per fireball, and I have made the dragon shoot them more commonly
@gaminggeckos438812 күн бұрын
@ Sure, but like, if you were trying to encourage players to fight the dragon multiple times like how you were talking about, I feel like a lot of players might just want to get an absolutely gargantuan amount of dragon breath, enough for the rest of their playthrough, in just one single dragon fight. Maybe make it so that the dragon eventually stops using its breath attack after the fight goes on for long enough? So that they’d have to make multiple trips, if you wanted to encourage that.

For fishing, I would maybe add something like a hidden timing mechanic. Perhaps when the bobber is at its lowest in the water, there's a greater chance of mid and treasure items. Saddles should also become stackable, or stripable for leather.
@GreenJab18 күн бұрын
Although yes that could be interesting, trying to do precise timings like that isn't ideal for a game where it is easy to have a bit of lag, and I have made saddles stackable
@z-leigh655418 күн бұрын
@@GreenJab Okay, the stackable saddles is huge. Thank you. I suppose that the lag would be an issue. Maybe there's another way to add some kind of minigame/learnable skill to make in person fishing fun (and even slightly buff it) without breaking auto-fishing farms? If there is, I suppose I'll have to get cranking on it
@z-leigh655418 күн бұрын
Hmm, mayhaps we could buff the enchanting table by making it so that you can use it on already enchanted weapons, but that it strips and re-enchants it, but with a better than average likelyhood to give better (as defined in the new enchanting values) enchantments than it had before, allowing you to progress gear before enchanted books? You also then have to think about if you want to enchant it, while allowing incremental enchants. For me this makes early level enchantments more worthwhile (Usually there's no reason to go below the level 30 enchantments, and doing so simply neuters the gear without a grindstone, which in turn, loses you lapis and doesn't give back all that many levels once you're ready to re-enchant.) Or maybe the enchanting table strips and re-enchants, but there's a chance for enchantments to cover some of the cost of re-enchanting? That could also work. But I think there needs to be some way for the enchanting table to make incremental gear increase possible, not just anvils.
@GreenJab18 күн бұрын
I purposely dont want 'enchant rerolling' which is why I have now also made the grindstone take away some durability when removing enchants, besides, now there is no 'level 30' as the cost is directly proportional to the output on the enchants.
@z-leigh655418 күн бұрын
@@GreenJab Hmmm, I must have forgot about the proportionality. The original intent was to bring the enchanting table in line with the utility of the anvil, but I'll have to think more on it then.

I would suggest allowing llamas to be able to jump up to 2 to 4 blocks high when walking through hilly terrain, and maybe allow the play to control them or leash them to another mob so the it would be easier to transport their camper vans. The strider could be able to equip chests on it's be, and allow the play to take the saddle back without the need to kill the poor thing. The donkey could have its inventory expanded to a chest size depending on the strength level of it and the Camel could be able to equip chest instead of a player,just smaller then the donkey.
@GreenJab24 күн бұрын
Striders can go on lava, that is its niche. Llamas I have modified the formula so its much easier to breed higher strength llamas, and I want to have them spawn in more mountain type biomes. Camels I am making it so that you can put villagers on via trading, horses are getting a whole range of buffs, some of which also buff the donkey, and I am making the mule have less chest space than then donkey but can now wear amour

I think out of all villager classes, the leather worker is the must lack luster mostly because he really only sells well leather armor along other things like saddles. Perhaps make him more like a rancher that trade items like honey combs, wheat, carrots, eggs, buckets of milk, bottles and dyes for emeralds to trade items like candles, honey bottles and other things related. Perhaps maybe allow other village to actually do their jobs like the farmer, the leather worker or shepherd could look after the animals, the librarians & cartographers can help baby villager grow up fast with better trades, the blacksmiths can repair the iron golems and masons & fletchers...I don't know.

I have an idea for enchanting. Enchanting tables now require an enchanted book to enchant something and will,consume it (like anvils. Anvils are now only for repairing while maintaining enchantments). Enchanted books can only be found as loot, similar to armor trims, and no longer from librarians. Librarians are now used to duplicate enchanted books. Cost of duplication should be quite high. Haven't decided on what yet. Maybe even different costs depending on rarity of enchantment. This makes enchanting tables necessary for enchanting. More valuable enchantments like Mending can simply be rarer and in more dangerous structures like Ancient cities (similar rarity to silence) Also, prior use penalty of anvils are gone so fully repairing something only costs 4 pieces of material and 4 levels. So Mending isn't essential.

With the overall enchantment system overhaul, mending goes from a op must have enchant, to an actual quality of life enchant at the cost of not being able to put something else on your gear, so since it is now much more balanced, I don't feel it as necessary to do something like that anymore. Besides, I tweak villagers in part 2.

I like the elytra but honestly I'd be fine if it got nerfed a bit somehow. I like the idea of needing a more rare item like dragon breath to craft them (though I still love the way you can use actual decorative fireworks to propel yourself with an extra boom) and even if some people might be able to make dragon breath farms with the change of the dragon not destroying player-placed blocks, I mean.. We already have people moving the dragon to the overworld. Technical minecraft is going to technical minecraft, and even then, it would be a lot harder to build and farm effectively than sugar cane and gunpowder. I'm trying to use more casual travel in my newest world. I'm actually farming phantoms to repair my unenchanted elytra, I'm using boats to explore and bring back mobs to my island, and I'm planning on making a huge interconnected railway. Sure, that's half because I'm doing blaze and caves and there's achievements for other travel stats, but I want to enjoy this kind of in between where I can fly around if I need to, but it's not my *only* option. I might try getting a mod that does the copper rail change you suggested, it sounds pretty cool. Absolutely yes on the inventory toggles! I keep instinctively hitting tab whenever I move from Stardew to minecraft and it drives me batty that it's not an option. I've seen mods that let you scroll just one slot (swap out the 1 space with anything in the 1 column) but I would much prefer being able to rotate through my whole bar at once. Maybe add a hotkey to revert quickly to your "base" hotbar with your tools in case you randomly run into monsters, or something similar to the toolbelt that you can grab from wherever you are in the inventory. Fuzs has a mod called Easy Shulkers that I think should be implemented in some way. It's the same preview as the tool tip you showed, but also allows you to scroll over them and pull them out with a click rather than putting a box on the ground and digging around manually. I actually didn't know that villager trick. My RSI thanks you for that little tidbit lol I can absolutely agree on the totems of undying. As someone who sucks at the game, yeah they're handy, but hardcore worlds have become just.. "who can get a raid farm going the fastest." Raid farms were cool for farming emeralds, but why do we even need that many if we can get all the armor, tools, and enchantment books for one emerald with zombifying? The phantoms. Oh my God, the phantoms. I'm farming them because I need to, but I have such trouble hitting them, and the sound is so bad. Honestly, even overall, I wish we could have more specific volume sliders for each mob type. The idea of having an eye point you to the nearest end city is cool, but I think it would need a bit of tweaking. There are mods for compasses that do that same thing, but once you get there, it doesn't tell you which direction to go to the next one, because the closest one is, yknow, behind you. So you might end up wandering in one direction periodically throwing eyes only for them to keep leading to the city you just left. Maybe it could be something liek there being a specific item in each city that has to be destroyed for eyes to stop registering it on the map? Zombie horses at abandoned villages would be SO cool. On one hand, my brain says they should burn in the sun (maybe they spawn in roofed stables, and armour can protect them like a helmet protects a zombie?) but then again, skeleton horses don't burn either, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for them to survive.

A better idea would be making the enchantment table a Tree that could be used to upgrade enchantments for with set XP values. Deinsentivising anvil usage

since this video I have made is so that bundles can hold 4 unstackables, so another full set of armour, a couple back up tools or to keep on you other tools like the spyglass without taking up too much inventory
